Hi,

I have a working Disco Fever, but am having display issues. Player 4 display is out. The rest of the displays work. Someone at one time replaced the glass on the display. Can I swap a working display in the player 4 connector to see if, in fact, its the display and not the motherboard? If the motherboard has a issue will it destroy the working display if I swap it?

Thanks

With the power off swap the displays.

If it does not come up, turn it off immediately.

Will it hurt the display any?

No, just do what vid said =P.

Basically he wants you to see if your display glass is bad or you have other issues.

The reason you turn it right off if it does not come up is that the 4 displays get powered by the master display board (the one with the credit/match on it) and are known to burn it's corresponding resistor on the MDB with a slave display goes bad.

If you have a bad display at say 4, and you move it to 3 and it does not come alive, you don't want it to burn the resistor for display 3 on the MDB. And that would also mean that the one for display 4 on the MDB is already gone.

If however your display 4 works fine in display 3 position, you have an MDB or cabling issue.
