Quoted from CaptainNeo:

Why would you take out all the inserts? I would not advise anyone to do this ever, unless the insert is loose and falling out already. It's very hard to get inserts out without putting micro fractures in them. Many inserts are impossible to find. So it's a very drastic measure. I've seen playfields ruined, because someone felt the unnessesary need to pull the inserts when they didn't have to.

His reasoning is they were all cracked...

I saw the clear coat in person. I can at least say that part looks great! The custom inserts were aso great looking in the game. Hard to tell how it will all turn out but so far it looks good.

Quoted from Kerry_Richard:

This is looking good. I'm very anxious to see/hear the progress on the cabinet side art as well. Keep us posted.
BTW: I just had my DP DINER playfield clear coated. I'm now waiting a few weeks to let it cure before re-assembly. It looks awesome!

Why clear a DP playfield? Was the existing clear messed up? Not bashing just trying to understand why people do this.

Quoted from johnwartjr:

DP doesn't mean it never wears... I've had to have many DP playfields touched up and re-cleared.
It just means it doesn't wear as *quickly* as a lacquer PF.
A heavy wear area is still a heavy wear area.

I realize that but I see people buying NOS pf that are DP and send them off to be clear coated. Doesn't make any sense to me... Especially since we have no idea how these clears will actually hold up and look after 10 years. Probably be fine though.

Quoted from ArcadiusMaximus:

Decals are finally done ! Hope to clear the field this weekend weather permiting. Its been awfully rainy and humid all week. More to come .

Humidity was down last night. Supposed to stay away for at least today. Any chance you can clear it tonight? Can't wait to play this!
