I have a Williams Contact that started out with a little funky display, Sometimes the ball count wouldn't display, and lots of times the lowest segment of several of the Displays was out. It seemed like monkeying with the Display connectors at the top of the MPU board, the ones with the Purple Wires, would sometimes cause the problem to go away.
NOW however, it started by blowing the fuse - which was a 1/4 Amp fuse in the holder, of what I gather was a slow blow variety? I've never seen such a contraption inside a fuse before. It usually is either a solid wire, or a wire twisted around some sort of element. This looks like a huge fishing pole with a really thin line. Sorry for the description. I think I'm a little punchy this late. Anyway, So I dug through my box, and all I could find was a fast blow 1/4 Amp, so I stuck that in there, and I believe it blew instantly.
I've never been much with these displays, Usually It's a problem with one of the displays, and I've just replaced the one, or the one and one other display, and that would fix the problem. I've never run into this Fuse blowing scenario, and I'm at a loss. I'm about out of 1/4 amp fuses, so I don't want to just keep putting them in. I've put circuit breakers in for fuses on repeat blows, but I don't have a circuit breaker that is that small.
Any help would be appreciated.
