For some reason, my Black Knight goes through this long sound startup sequence every time it starts up (like 10 minutes long). Does anyone know why it might do this? I created a short video so you can hear what I'm talking about.

Quoted from ForceFlow:What boards do you have? Original or aftermarket?
If you're not sure, can you post photos?
I belive it's all orignal boards, see the attached screenshot.

Yeah, it's freaky. I recently was trying to take the machine out of "attrack mode" and I'm wondering if there isn't a setting I might have set by accident.

Sound signal is pulsed in sync with displays alternating:
Suspect a corrupt PIA ic 36
If this were mine I would start by replacing the capacitors, header pins, crimp contacts in the header housings and maybe the chip sockets on the sound board(s)
So you press start, it does the noises for 10 minutes, then eventually serves a ball and the game plays fine, or (?)

While that's generally a good practice for bulletproofing a game, I don't think that's what is causing the wonky behavior at startup. It seems like it's a logic problem/failure somewhere.

Does anyone know if they made replacement boards for Black Knight? This is my son's favorite machine. This issue got worse and now it never comes out of this demonic test mode.
I found one place that has replacement boards.

Has anyone bought from them before and used their replacement boards?
I have a set of Kohout boards on order for my BK - around $400. Hopefully, the USPS will catch up before I get home so I can install. Look on this thread for comments concerning these boards.

Yes, these are the best replacement system 3-7 boards on the market IMO. First choice to go to if I need a set.
