Rick from Planetary Pinball and I are working together to start remaking aprons and plunger guides. Both parts will be made just like originals (same gauge steel, powder coated, and silk screened from the original Williams art files).

Instead of us deciding which titles we think are most in need of being remade I thought it best to open it up to Pinsiders to suggest what games they think are in the greatest need for new aprons. Now is also a great time to suggest what you think a fair price would be.

TAF hands down

#4 10 years ago

Generic System 11
TAF
FH
TOTAN
STTNG, to name a few

I would replace a bunch of mine at $50 to $75 a pop.

#5 10 years ago

100% on the system 11 ones. You would sell a bunch right out of the gate with just the one design. I enjoy restoring the system11's the most and they all need a repaint.

Blue generic apron as found on space shuttle. Probably is used on other games. Looks the same as the black generic system 11 apron but blue.

Future Spa!

The Getaway / HSII - they are always faded like crazy or scratched up from Tax Stamps being removed like I'm sure a lot of Aprons have been (maybe with UV resistant fluorescent Red/Orange this time).

Price wise I'd spend $50 - $80 depending on the title & complexity of the Artwork i.e. Generic System 11 $50, TAF, HSII, TOTAN $70/$80

The only one I have that isn't perfect is EATPM...

#10 10 years ago

Roadshow!! I have never seen a modern apron flake like this one...

#11 10 years ago

Demo man

#12 10 years ago

I don't even own it any more, but roadshow has to be at the top of the list.

#13 10 years ago

Black Knight 2000!!!!

#14 10 years ago

ROADSHOW!

Even the nice ones have major issues.

I would take a RS and a TAF.

PLEASE!

#16 10 years ago

Warlok! Only thing not minty on mine.

TAF and HS2's are always bad and TOTAN, too

#17 10 years ago

+1.
Would make sense too, as it was the most produced pin and therefore should have the most needed. And there's the fact I own TAF and need a new apron, lol. Rather have a new apron then decals.

#19 10 years ago

I'll say Road Show as well. I've never seen one that was perfect.

#20 10 years ago

Roadshow. They all have rust issues.

I really need a new The Getaway apron for mine. Thanks.

Same here.

#24 10 years ago

TOTAN! I have been wondering what to do about mine and would buy a replacement in a heartbeat. Any idea whe this might happen?

Same here, I'd take an Elvira and the Party Monsters one.

#26 10 years ago

Doctor who (they all look faded) and white water.

#27 10 years ago

Sorcerer, Firepower

#28 10 years ago

Tales of The Arabian Nights.

#29 10 years ago

Funhouse apron along with a remake of the entire game too

#30 10 years ago

Cactus Canyon!!!

#31 10 years ago

TAF and T2.

I would also settle for very high quality decals of the art.

Absolutely, they are rusty out of the factory -> RS

But I bed ... MM will be the first made .... for whatever reason

#34 10 years ago

TAF, Getaway, Roadshow

Tales of the Arabian Nights.

Why not go with this: http://www.treasure-cove.net/TalesoftheArabianNights.htm

I think he has other titles as well... AFM, RS, MM

Doctor Who (they all look faded)

Definitely this.

#40 10 years ago

Firepower
And keeping the price $50 - 75.

#41 10 years ago

Aren't most aprons the same for many games. Why no make them all and sell the decals separate?

because decals are already available for many titles and suck.

This is for nice reprodutions with real silkscreened art on the apron, which is great.

You obviously have never tried TC laser cut decals for the aprons. Once done you can't tell the difference between an original silk screened apron. They do offer the cheaper decals as well which I don't recommend but the laser cut decals that you put on wet are awesome.

+1 for system 11. Specifically, Cyclone.

#45 10 years ago

T2- and one where the paint sticks.

I tried to clean a small spot on mine with water, and to my horror watched the light blue paint dissolve-

#46 10 years ago

White Water

#48 10 years ago

Monster Bash, AFM, Scared Stiff, TOTAN all have artwork issues to some level.

I'm not sure these can get made for $75, though. I'd guess you're looking at double that, realistically. Maybe 3x
