I am working on an Apollo pin and was curious if anyone knew what size of coil it uses for the bell. The coil is fried and the paper with the coil i.d. is missing. Also, are there 4 wires that go to the coil? When i yanked the coil out it has two wires soldered on and two wires in the same harness going to a 4 pronged jones plug that plugs into the bottom of the cab on the board where the transformer and relays are.

The bell uses coil A2 23 750. 2 wires go to the bell, the other two go to the knocker. All 4 go to the Jones connector

WOW! gottguy rocks!

Thanks Gottguy. The entire knocker assembly was missing, hence my confusion. ordered a new coil for the bell and entire knocker assembly. I'll get it in after I finish the play field restore.

Great game! It's got 'flow' with that orbit shot and progressive scoring. One of my favorites. I added an extra early Williams chime unit in the head and split the one and ten point scoring.

You are welcome. Mine was missing both the knocker and bell assemblies when I bought mine.

I got my knocker assembly in and coil for the bell and finished the restore and the game is a blast.

Quoted from stashyboy:

I did the same on my '63 Big Deal and Paddock. I always add a 3rd bell to my 2-bell Gottlieb Games as well. It gives the feeling of more going IMO.

Agree on Apollo having a nice flow with the not-so-difficult orbit shot for meaningful points, also, hitting the top center target when lit the 3rd time, makes the whole playfield alternate like a Christmas Tree. It's a show!
