Williams, 1964Anyone know what the 1960s Williams serial number scheme was?
My Heat Wave's number is 5479, but they only made 1,800 of them. Does that mean that I have production number 479?
The manufacture date isn't on the edge of the playfield. Did Williams put a date stamp on these?

At some point Williams adopted a single serial number range for all their games. I’ve seen serial numbers overlap between some of their titles, so it’s practically impossible to determine exactly which number your Heat Wave lands in order of production.
Looking at the IPSND, however, it appears you have one of the earliest.
