I see a lower cabinet with some internals available on eBay. I also know locally of a back box that seems to be in good condition. My question is how easy is it to get missing parts? This includes under playfield batting mechanism and 3 upper playfield red ramp parts? The front lock bar part with button and lever is missing also. I am sure this is not all what do you think, is this game worth it.

#2 5 years ago

A guy on RGP just made some ramp sets. He wants $120 for a set. I've seen the lock bars on Ebay before but you know how it goes. When you need one there is nothing available. Worst case scenario you could make your own until you find one. I have some bat mech parts but am not sure what model they are off of and if they would match what you'd need.

It would be a rewarding project making a complete game out of parts. The tough question is it worth it financially. You'd have to try to figure out if piecing it together would be more cost effective than buying a complete project. I guess it also depends on the level of restoration you hope to accomplish.

Cabinet with parts missing is $200 + shipping. He wants $500 for top box (ouch) parts ramps $120 others $300 if I can find outlay minimum over $1100.

Sounds way to pricey for a game that's in pieces and may not have all the pieces to me. I would pass on it Steve unless the price was maybe half of that.

Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, it may be worth it but you'd have to be in it for the love of the project I think. World Series is a nice game and finding a comparable complete P&B for that price could take some time I think. It's just the hassle involved and dealing with any potential unknowns that make it a tough decision.

I am interested in a project with a baseball/football theme. The moving back box parts is icing. I think if the back box which Is being sold on its own by I believe not a pinball collector had of been south of $200 it was doable. Sigh.

If anyone has one I would be interested.

I just bought one... paid $1000. everything is there and works just needs to be shopped, and I do need the new ramps (one has a piece broken off it), and a new bat. I bought for the love of the project. It is going to look so amazing when it is done. I am torn whether I restore it to original or put a personal touch on it. and getting away from the original colors

Nice, congratulations. I vote to keep it original. Makes it easier to sell if you decide to down the road.

Steve,
I know a guy here locally with spare p&b parts.
Pitching unit
Running man unit
Etc

Thanks for the advice all. I pin mailed way2wyrd about moving on this project but I was too late as the back box was gone in less than a day. I saw the other thread today on the Craigslist thread and see others had the same idea. I will keep looking.

Gone in less than a day for $500? I gather it's a pretty competitive market down in Texas.

Looks like it's still available:

Wonder what happened. Looks like it's worth what he's asking. The glass looks very nice for that model. Most I've seen are totally trashed. I'd grab that if I was local.

#15 5 years ago

Thanks Guys you are the best. This is the first day I did not look at craigslist.

Please do not comment on the the eBay baseball game that finished today. I was out working on my Can Can and forgot I was bidding and it was in my price range to. It's less than I am going to sink this! However this will be way more fun.

I have bought the head it's only 15 miles away. So will pick up tomorrow. I will ask what happened.

#18 5 years ago

Congratulations. I've let go of 2 P&B's. I won't let the one I have now go.

You've got a month to show it off at TPF hahaha

Thanks AlexF I have emailed Kevin. I was searching the site when you pinned me. you saved me some time as I got sidetracked in some savory discourse.

I don' t want to change the subject of this thread but RGP site people can be rough on each other. My first visit.

RGP is like the bronx... LOL

but if ya know where and where not to got its awesome

#22 5 years ago

I have been following this thread too as I am also rebuilding a P&B, I ALSO need ramps; would I be able to get the info on where to buy them. I have searched a few times online, ( although pretty new to this) could not find any, the help on the ramps would be greatly appreciated

Way2wryd,

Does your friend have the batter assembly mechanism and front molding bar (pictures attached). Additionally does he have the front molding lever mechanism separately (no picture attached)?

toasterman04,

I have contacted Kevin Godwin about the ramps. He is still preparing them and we are trading emails abet very slowly. I asked him if he has another set for you and expect a return email this evening. I will pinmail you his email in a few minutes. Good luck.

Toastermano4,

The part I am looking for is in the first picture. It is the piece of painted wood with the lever coming out off it.
