Came across a machine for sale. It’s been sitting for about 6 years and don’t know if it’s working. Top glass broken which I assume is no big deal. Person asking $1,000. I don’t have any experience with pitch and bat games, but always wanted one.

Attached are some photos. Would appreciate any input on what is s reasonable price to pay for the game.

Thanks!

Price is subjective on this. Williams pitch and Bats always command more than other brands. I personally wouldn't pay $1000 if it wasn't fully functional with non-broken glass.

A fully working world series is worth 2.5x the asking price according to the price guide. I've never sold a pitch and bat, but I would assume the buyer's market is smaller than normal pinball. If you've been looking for one, I think this one is a good title at a fair price (assuming nothing major is missing).

Edit: it also appears to have the reproduction backglass. I'm also wondering about the box on top, is it a topper?!

i have owned almost all of the williams pitch n bats over the years - this is a decent price - working they are 1000 - 1500 - fully restored (mint) are usaully about 2500. the market is much smaller - but there are always buyers if the price is right and it has the running man unit. in the old days the collectors wanted the ones with the holes (which this has) - now it seems the old collectors for wood rails n old pitch n bats are dead or no longer in the hobby.

just my opinion - thanks ed

If it has all the parts it’s still a steal at a grand. Love mine.

Adding photo of something the person has on top of the game - don’t know what it is

Maybe the original glass with a backing paper behind it?

I’m with Steve on this one. A steal at $1000. I’ve had one in my family for years and it is excellent. I am way late in starting my restoration, but the one you show is in better physical shape than mine.

It is a reproduction backglass installed (as pointed out by others) but he has removed and somewhat preserved the flaky original which is great. My backglass is flaking much worse and I plan to do a similar replacement.

Also looks like it has fresh legs and a new bat. Maybe chat with him about other restoration work he has done on it.
