So I went to get some walnut shell media at the pet store...one was like a finer grit and one felt like larger pieces, but I could not see through it's packaging. I may have chosen wrong as this is pressed into turd-like pellets. They are walnut, but will this possibly work? Maybe I could put in a food processor? Any input is appreciated.

I don't think that the larger pellets will get into small cracks and crevices unless they break down into smaller chunks.

Use walnut shells from a pet shop. Bird litter. Kaytee or other brands.

Thanks guys. The other bag was almost like sand, but slightly coarser. I guess that will be better.
