With Stern Pinball changing their backbox a little, and the computer now dead center. Taller display and such. Will there be a game with backbox annimation ever again?? Terminator 3 was the last machine. I know it to be a cost issue

Unless incorporated into the display ,

Unless it could be done with some springs and a sticky label. Do not hold your breath!

With the current coil count so low on games there's some wiggle room!

Probably not until the LCD display gets stale.

"Animated" toppers are probably going to be the extent of it for the time being, at least.

More moving parts means the manufacturong cost goes up, and there is more that can go wrong that could need servicing.

Star Trek Premium/ LE had at least some Flashers in the backbox, that's at least something I assume...

Dunno if any games afterwards had this.

Will there be a Stern left outlane kickback again?
So many things seem to have gone by the wayside.

Isn't there usually in the Premium & LE Models?

On the upside, drop target ball locks are coming back. Plus, how cool is that "temp ball lock" in Iron Maiden??

I'm not sure what the last Stern to have a left outlane kickback instead of an NBAFB-style replunge was - I think it's been a good while?

I think the last one was T3, correct?

Even HRC had a gameboard up there. I mean, it's about 3% as cool as Scared Stiff's mechanical one, but at least it was something and had animated spinning through lights. Something like that would be super simple to do in a future game, and not expensive at all.

Well star trek prem/le has a real kick back on the left.

Anything newer than that from stern?
