Toppers don’t excite me so inflation can go either direction and won’t be changing my purchasing habits
No. Toppers, even more-so than the LE editions of games, are just there to capture that highest end of the market, the people who would have paid 50% more, 100% more, or even more, for their LE games, if that's what Stern had charged (but they can't because then that segment of the market just below will only wind up getting a Premium instead, leaving thousands of dollar on the table that Stern otherwise could've gotten).
I'm not that market. I might pay a little more for some genuine extra gameplay. But pretty lights and iconography? No thanks, especially not for thousands of dollars more. (And yes, I understand they include a little nod to the topper in the game code; it's not changing the way the game plays though.)
I wouldn't have bought a topper in any case, so inflation doesn't make any difference to me in that respect.
On the other hand, tell me more about that extended warranty for my car? Sounds like an awesome deal.
