Current astronomical pricing for Pirates is unsustainable and will continue a downward trajectory in value, becoming more pronounced as new movies featuring an Actor other than Depp are released.
It will quickly be "Yesterdays news" much like many of the older Titles todays younger Buyer has no vested or sentimental interest in.
There will remain the well heeled older Buyer who already has one or more exceptional versions already in their collection. It will have less staying power then Fireball, which continues to enjoy high collectability value. But Fireball desirability has waned dramatically the past 5 years and its decline will accelerate further as time passes.

Elvira always was and continues to be a high-niche genre. Outside of Comics, nerdy film fans and Pinball she is quickly fading into obscurity, especially beside horror classics like Dracula and Frankenstein.
Doubtful very many Teens even know who she is, even fewer who will one day be willing to shell out an astronomical sum for a machine with then outdated electronics and sketchy parts availability.
Plue the various outrage social movements continuation paints a bleak picture for Boomers displaying overt sexuality and cleavage.

One thing to consider... when the pinball world was on the brink of extinction everyone prayed for an upturn in popularity. Here we are, all the old stock has been absorbed and the current producers are at capacity. The market is baring what it can withstand. These prices are not going anywhere unless pinball becomes uncool which is what we all fought against... we reap what we sow.

Pinball prices will drop off just as soon as the boomer debt-addicts credit lines dry up or they die off.

Actually everyone here can predict the future.

Trying to follow the pinball economy, demand seems to be at all time high right now. Once supply chain issues are resolved and manufacturers can keep up with demand on the new machines, I think it will have a trickle down effect on vintage machines.

Also, it almost feels like people are buying pins just to fill a void in their basement collection or wherever their collection may be located.

If you have to think about it, neither. Both are stupid overpriced bs.

We are in an era of spending, full of people whom have mostly NEVER actually experienced tough times, and not afraid to spend what they have and even go in to debt because “I want it, and deserve it” a generation that was mostly given “Prizes” for behaving as they are supposed to. Ice cream because they are “sad” and gifts to say “I love you” a generation of material items. The size of diamond says how much you love your wife right? They will spend “whatever” it doesn’t matter because I want it.

We live in a time where a brand such as “Supreme” even exists…..Rolex’s are sold out with a 5 year wait, $30,000 Polaris Rangers, and $90,000 Ford Broncos, $120,000 Corvettes all being sold at 20% over retail because “I want one now”…..Lambos and Ferraris driving past…..as if a $7000 pinball is even a thing. Reality is people can complain about delays or high prices on any of these items, yet it just keeps going up and will until people stop paying the prices… since many games are sold out into 2022-2023 it won’t stop anytime soon. If you want a sold out game you will have to do 1 of 3 things
1. Wait patiently
2. Don’t buy it
3. spend enough to get someone to let it go.

Or just complain on the forums “it’s not fair” and go buy yourself some ice cream

It’s a crazy world and as long as stupid money exists, Inflation will continue, but the reckless spending will have to end at some point, and that may not be until inflation takes excess money down to normal levels.

We also live in a time where a bar owner decides to route his own location and says holy f*## this is exceeding expectations because I can count on zero fingers competitors doing the same…

As a business owner and from a capitalist perspective…. Labor has the bargaining power for the first time in decades and pin owners have the resale power for pins.

Remember, the flower power generation of the late 60's and early 70's grew up to be the most greedy, spendy, power hungry generation in recent history (the 90's). What the Milennials say now has zero basis on what they will actually do 20 years from now when they are at their peak earning power.
Result: no ceiling on pinball machine prices.
Pinball is generationally cool, that's already been proven for at least 3 generations. Strap in people, it's gonna be a bumpy ride.

This reminds me of someone who bought virtual land with crypto I assume it was that earth 2.0 and it was a little over $2 million dollars. I don’t think it was someone saving up. The younger generation has silly money. That could buy you many titles. For many of them a NIB stern is like a candy bar.
