Quoted from Toasterdog:So then the consensus is that Stern won't ever rerun any old titles?
Yes, but they'll have the boards they were originally made with. Spike 1 or SAM. I'd bet on Whitestar being done.

Quoted from frolic:I think it depends on whether Spiderman Vault made any money.
Why? That was a DMD re-do.
Quoted from phillymadison:Well Spider-Man VE is all new dots no? That had to be redone. What's the difference remaking an old game with video?
It was on the same SAM hardware. It was basically a "swap out" from the old dots to new. Plus, they're dots. Dots are easier than full color animation. If they were to remake an old game with a color display, it would have to be reprogrammed to run on the Spike 2 system, and high quality new animation would have to be created.
Quoted from tron1969:Isn't batman basically a ve
No, it's a redesign with the same toy and a few other elements. It's a VE as much as Aerosmith is a Metallica/Indiana Jones/NBA/Kiss VE
Quoted from tron1969:Really? I just took a look at both play fields side by side they are both batman, Its BatMan Dark knight and BatMan 66 - same basic play-field "out hole" same place, "Same bat Crain, "same bat location" Spinning toy same location, right wire form appears to be the same with the same bends. there are a few small changes. how do you compare Indy as a wide body to NBA? nothing alike not even the same theme category.
Pretty cool how we all have such different visions of the same things, thats what makes these posts fun to read.
BDK vs. B66: totally different ramps, totally different main center toy, totally different code.
I was talking about Stern IJ. The ark spilling out balls is he same toy as the Toy Box on Aerosmith. The fling trick into the box is the same feature from Stern NBA. The layout and rules are similar to Kiss.
That was my point. If you consider B66 the same as BDK, then Asrosmith is "the same" as those games.
Quoted from nephasth:Doesn't Spiderman The Pin (if those are still called that) use an LCD? If they can throw it in there, surely it shouldn't be too hard to do so for future VEs.
It's an a completely newly designed game with an LED Color in a new aspect ratio display running off of Spike. Nothing about the older games would be compatible.
