I know my El Dorado has no capacitors installed on any playfield switches like the roll over, stand up target, pop bumpers or sling shots
... but just wondering has anyone tried putting capacitors on an EM machine?

For example, I find the sling shots are not as responsive as they could be ....

If I did try it, would .047uf make sense (that's what my Bally SS uses) ... also any harm that could happen if I tried this?

I don't think you want to be putting capacitors on an AC circuit. Probably wouldn't help anyway, since EMs don't do discrete scanning passes like SS do.

If slingshots aren't responsive, gap them closer, clean the contacts

Ah, thanks for that information -- good to know.

I will adjust/clean contacts as you suggested.

and pbr sells the high current switches for the slings. I replace these when doing a pf swap.

I need to do this. Damned things are usually bent all to hell anyway.

part GTB-22224+   you find it under the game specific such as royal flush http://www.pbresource.com/signatur/gtb-22224.jpg $8 but worth it. The minor nag is the mounting bracket that comes with it doesnt always match the one you are replacing. I drill out the old switch and reuse the old bracket to mount the new switch. I could complain to the Steve but I picks my battles wisely
