So as soon as I get my Godzilla, I will be putting the Insider Connect apron and hardware for sale in an attempt to recoup money for something I have zero interest in. Anyone else in that boat??

if you ever try to sell your game wouldn’t that hurt the resale value?

So your game won't have a Godzilla apron at all then? Like the other poster said, that's going to affect your resale value.

Swap in a regular apron or do an apron swap and sell with somebody who wants to retro fit a game. Add new decals or custom decals to suit.

    #5 2 years ago

When you do that, put on a TMNT apron to increase your value. LOL!

Where are you buying the decals and the replacement apron? At the end of the day I don't think you will be recouping much money, especially when you consider that the potential future buyer might be interested in connecting the game.

Who is going to buy your godzilla apron for what machine?
How much of the sale money goes towards a new apron and what will you replace it with?

Decals are a trivial problem if you have a laser printer and photoshop.

I thought stern said the machines would come with an option to cover the qr reader if you didn't want to use it.

As long as it has a replacement apron, im sure there are plenty of folks who wont mind losing this feature.

    #12 2 years ago

    That’ll show stern!

    #13 2 years ago

This is a pretty dumb protest. Your game is going to look really funny without an apron.

You also WONT do this, because it will hurt your game’s resale value even if you find a replacement apron. Why would someone buy your game when every other one hasn’t been stripped for parts?

    #14 2 years ago

Stern Connect is a pretty stupid feature, but that's just my opinion. To each his own. I'm sure others will greatly enjoy it. Personally, I will never use mine! I wish they offered an option to buy a game without it so I didn't have to incur the expense of useless to me hardware.
To the OP's point, if a secondary market is created to sell the apron and hardware and a good looking replacement apron exists, I will sell mine as well.

More like stripping a shitty spoiler off an otherwise nice car. I approve.

Thanks I was having trouble grasping this argument until you brought cars into it.

    #17 2 years ago

    I got $25 for it.

    #18 2 years ago

Maybe I’m missing something, but if you have a Premium you don’t have to sell the whole apron. The Premium kit looks like this:

That’s how I view almost every pinball topper.

Lol. "I am going to stick it to the man"! They are probably really sad. I asked them to take out the pop bumpers as they do not appeal to me and saved $3.00

So many of you ushering in fee-based DLC and god knows what else with open arms. High probability of monthly subscription fees or rev share for operators as well. And then mocking the naysayers to top it off. I hope you all like shit sandwiches.

So what you are saying is Shit sandwiches are kind of like cars. If you buy one, it will just encourage more shit sandwiches to flood our highways!

    #22 2 years ago

I’ll buy it and rig it to my car so that I can get achievements for driving.

People are really going to hurt the resale value for $150-200? WTF?

Dude, it's not just the PRINCIPLE here. The very future of this hobby is at stake.

Not stripping this out of your game and spite-selling it to hurt the future value of your game will somehow result in dante's inferno hell of DLC that will completely corrupt pinball as we know it!!!! If we don't make our stand now, within 3 months, you won't even be able to enjoy the attract mode on your $9,000 pinball machine without paying a monthly fee!

    WAKE UP SHEEPLE!

I would be happy just disconnecting any cameras, microphones and disabling WIFI.

Anyone interested in selling their insider klt please contact me. Our locations here are looking for as many as we can get. I can pick up at Expo next week to save on shipping.

Insider connect demolition night + 10 cent beers?!?
    What could possibly go wrong?

I’m selling my pinball legs, cause it’s cheaper to just sit on the floor and play. Damn $tern and their greedy forced legs DLC

Oh, and who wants to buy my Godzilla premium coin mech? Also, my game is going in a corner, so I’m going to scrape off the left side art. Any takers?

    I have done that!

I was initially thinking I just wouldnt use it but after playing Godzilla and checking the achievements, I think it's really cool. My wife is a fan cause it keeps track of her high score, even if it's not saved as one of the top 5. I also think it will add replay value as I expect that there will be times I just focus on a certain achievement to unlock it. Of course I will be furious if Stern ever thinks of charging me for regular play or code updates but if that happens, I'll simply stop buying Stern pins altogether. Until then, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and am looking forward to seeing what they have planned.
If I can play a game against a friend or two, that would be really cool.

    #34 2 years ago

Yes, keeping track of my high score on a particular machine is actually really nice. I do like looking up my friends scores also.

Everyone acting like he is bashing stern. Guy just said he is gonna sell the accessories he doesn't have use for. Might do the same myself depending on how this insider bit flushes out.
