I know it's been discussed in the thread of cars a pin will fit in. Time is tight and really need to figure out before this weekend. Getting a Space Station.

Has anyone tried? Will the back head stick out?

thanks!

Not sure the year but I tried to put a Tri-Zone in a fairly new Outback and it wasn't tall enough to fit the head.

Might want to contact this pinsider if no one else chimes in

Quoted from Beatnik-Filmstar:

Can confirm / state that a standard Stern WILL NOT fit in a 2016 Outback. It's close, but not quite.
(It very well may be possible depending on how much you care about the liner of your car, and how much swearing you'd want to do getting it back out.)
Can confirm / state that a standard Stern WILL fit into a 2014 Forrester though.

It is 30.5 inches top to bottom clearance on the Outbacks

Cool thanks guys, i'm going to contact Beatnick

After talking with Beatnick it's still a maybe. We did find someone fit a No Fear in a 2015 Outback.

Gonna be close, i'll make sure to take some pictures for the other thread.

We found some good dimensions on http://www.cars101.com/subaru/outback/outback2016.html

The answer is "NO" , but a Subaru Outback will fit nicely in a pin

Not your question, but 2012 Outback rear opening is just slightly too narrow heighth-wise to fit a pin with the head down. Forester fits perfectly of course (Why did I buy the more expensive Subaru again? Some nonsense about road noise? I'm an idiot!)

Hmmm....the only Ss & meyond I ever had to take off was High Speed which was too wide for some reason....it was a bitch but hey if you gotta grab it that's the way it goes.

Make sure you can actually fit the head in...

Decided to make other plans!

Going to use a truck instead. Was really hoping it would fit in the subi but it looks like it would stick out the back. Not trying to potentially break the glass or have anything happen to it.

Maybe someone in that thread can help that has tried? However any "new" subaru that is not a forester is going to be no or really tight, from my measuring.

I would have thought the Outback is plenty long (it's longer than the Forester), just the hatch opening is 1/2" too low (Forester is taller). Regardless, good call going with the pickup!

I have hauled the classic SS Bally/Stern games in my 16 outback. The head was removed tho.
