Quoted from ImNotNorm:Historical trends would indicate a recession if the Phillies win the World Series.
So........go Astros?
[quoted image]
Bah, gonna be a red October for the Phillies!
BTW, we're already in a recession.

Quoted from seenev:I spent a few hundred dollars with them on accessories this year and didn't get anything. I'm guessing it's just for people who've bought NIB pins and they've hoping to trigger new orders. I only mention it as evidence that it's getting harder to sell games.
Probably only to their high end clients, people who buy NIB pins regularly, versus someone spending 100 bucks on some led's.
I know my financial adviser sends a gift every Christmas. It's an appreciation of being a good customer.
Quoted from Jamesays:Musk overpaid for Twit ter,Fired a bunch of People,Lost Major Advertisers and users.Yeah hes a genius. He lost 182 Billion in the last year or two.Very Good Leadership.Running like a Swiss Watch.
Chump change for him.
Quoted from MtnFrost:Facts don’t lie. Somebody has, but it’s not me.
LOL, take off the blinders.
Quoted from MtnFrost:Take off the desire to see this in a political light
Who said anything about politics?
Take off the blinders, you don't see the cost of everything going up? Nothing is coming down.
Gas may have dropped slightly, but it's still higher than before covid.
Utilities have gone up drastically also.
Food prices too.
Your 401K, is it going up or down?
Jobs created are all ones returning post covid.
Why did social security benefits go up 8% ? Because cost of living. I don't think there was ever an increase this large.
I'm still buying and selling pins, but they're not NIB.
Quoted from MtnFrost:Lowest unemployment since the late 60s. That's not during the COVID shutdown comparison? The labor market is tighter than it was before the pandemic. More jobs have been created over the last two years than any previous two year snapshot. Not just the pandemic timeframe.
I think factcheck.org can refute some of these claims.

Quoted from MtnFrost:I wasn't referring to any speeches
Wait what, if you lie in a speech, it doesn't count. Hahaha
Quoted from MtnFrost:Sorry, never said that. I said the data I'm using came from non-political sources, as I already linked above.
Sorry, didn't think factcheck.org was political. My bad.
Quoted from starfighter:Cox Automotive, a leading auto organization, predicts that 1.5 million cars will be repossessed this year – 300,000 more than in 2022.
Must be a result of the booming economy.
Quoted from PanzerFreak:New record high for the DOW
Yeah, but been to the food store lately?
Quoted from Pinfactory2000:Yep (though we call them supermarkets or grocery stores here). Food inflation is the lowest in almost 3 years. Eggs alone are down 22%. Wages up 5.2%.
Lol, where are those facts from? Let's see some data.
Quoted from MikeS:Egg prices down 22.3% year over year according to BLS statistics.
Food prices rose 2.9% between November 2022 and November 2023, according to the most recent consumer price index (CPI) report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. By comparison, at the same time in 2022 prices rose 10.6% over a one-year period.

Thanks for proving @pinfactory wrong.
Quoted from sbmania:Somebody said whoever controls the numbers controls the narrative, or something like that. In any case, I don't need a bunch of dubious graphs to tell me what's going on. Every time I go to the grocery store my bill is significantly higher than it was a year ago. And my buying habits have not significantly changed. It takes more money to buy the same stuff I have always bought. No graph is going to change that for me.
Hey, now you're just using common sense.
Quoted from Pinfactory2000:Do you support continued covid payments?
Why should it? Isn't covid over?
Quoted from Pinfactory2000:Not suggesting you should. What's your remedy for the large homeless population that is 25% mentally ill?
On another fun note gas prices are now at <.90 cents a gallon in 1980 $$$.
Well, the states closed the mental hospitals, forcing them out in the streets. Close the border, lots of immigrants on the streets.
You can spin gas prices any way you want. Still fucking high >$3/gal here in Pa.
