I don't think any of the "where's the shaker motor" comments have blamed Borg. Most of the complaints have been directed toward Gary, or Stern in general, for leaving it off the BoM after raising the price of the LE.
Borg, working with a BoM budget made the right decision. With all the praise for this game, the op shouldn't be concerned about a few negative comments directed toward Stern.
BTW, I'll probably buy the shaker motor, but I wish I didn't have to.
