Quoted from whthrs166:

People are just unloading their games to buy new ones nothing more. Its not personal against one game. I think we are just reading into this...

Hobbit is not a very old game.

Its just a lousy game. People would rather take a loss on it than keep it and hate it. I know, I'm a former owner.

If it was more fun, owners would sell something else and avoid taking an unnecessary loss.

Quoted from Rarehero:

Another 3rd flipper liar, which proves you haven't played the game much or understand it.

I get the idea behind setting up the scale shot from the upper flipper.

But the target shot doesn't need the upper flipper. It's there, but not necessary.

It is nothing like what you find in a well designed upper flipper game such as TSPP, STTNG, TS, or any other smart design with a legitimate use of a 3rd flipper.

The most valid defense against those who complain about it is "just don't use it." And that defense is only valid because you just don't need it.

Quoted from TRAMD:

SWE1 will be gone as soon as I can find some fool to buy that POS

The key to get rid of it is to do exactly what TH owners are doing - drop the price.

Quoted from Pimp77:

Make your game tougher. Remove the center post and open the outlines all the way. Play with the pitch, adjust the rules. Hell, slap lightning flippers in it! Saying a game is too easy is not a valid complaint. You can control how hard or easy the game is. MB must be the worst game ever made and boring to you...

Making TH tougher by adjusting the settings just makes it all the more monotonous.

You still gotta achieve the same goals, but instead of spending 90 minutes to get there, it'll take two and a half hours.

It's still no fun. Actually worse.

Quoted from Wildbill327:

but what’s the difference between playing a 20min game or playing four 5min games.

The difference to me is that TH doesn't get interesting or exciting unless you reach a milestone mode and/or start approaching a good score. It takes time to get there, and getting there is more monotonous each time, and not really fun on the way

TSPP on the other hand is a long ball time game, but there are constant goals and challenges always within reach with just a few shots. You don't have to grind away just to get to a fun challenge. (Woz too, to a lesser degree).

I love it when a game goes long, but not so much if it MUST go long before it becomes interesting.

The best deep games have immediately attainable (not necessarily easy) goals on every ball, along with deeper goals for when you have one of the long ones.

TH modes suffer from feeling samey because of the ramp and target-centric layout.
