Since when is the ball travling 1 meter per second coming down the inlane.

Quoted from tiesmasc:

Valid point... but I couldn't find any references for that speed...
You can do the math of assuming 1/2 meter per second or 1/4 meter per second and still get to 1.5 to 0.75 mm which is quite a bit as well.
It's going to come down to what the real speed is...
Regardless of that... the ability to drop catch and live catch fast moving ball is also significant

If lucky.... after exiting the ramp, or going through the inlane I would say ( quess ) the ball is traveling between 8/10 inch’s per sec MAX. I would cut the .75 mm in half again

Now....we are not dealing with the .375 mm ( that would be the lag ) distance from button to flipper activation. We are dealing with the variance of this distance in the ms in which the distance of the ball on the flipper changed.

I personally feel it could not be detected by the human brain.

If I’m reading this right ?

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Come now.
Just because the remakes are obviously inferior to the originals and not appropriate for high level competition doesn't make them worthless. There's lots of flawed games out there that look pretty and still bring in good cash so I wouldn't affect this bombshell revelation to hurt the market for replica AFMs. But there's still only a couole thousand originals around and these will continue to demand good money.

Mmrs are holding there value very well while all the folts that spend crazy money in restored ones are taking a beating

Not trying to dis the original but I put mich thought into this and wanted a perfect one for less than 8k.

Here’s one for everyone ...... what is the reaction time from opto to flipper on a phantom flip on games like MB and TAF and is there variance. I’m sure we are not much better than a cpu that can do it and adjust its own timing

Quoted from jar155:

Oh, there's no reason not to get a remake over an original, there will just be some adjustment to the new feel.

I disagree........ a nice original that has 20 plus years of play 8k. A NIB MMR 8k that’s perfect im every way. Debated this a bit before I made my decision

Great info from all sources. It appears that the remakes are every bit as accurate in this category. Great work !!!

When I get mine I’m going to up the flipper power and adjust them level like I do will all my other titles

Quoted from DanQverymuch:

Still don't think "similar flipper delays" tells the whole story.
Even if they both have the same range of delays, one could still have a much more consistent delay than the other.
One could be, say, usually around 2ms, with the occasional 3 or 4, while the other could be 3s or 4s just as often as the 2s, which would be so inconsistent that you couldn't adjust to it.
In statistics speak, they might have very different standard deviations.

Just as stated...... none that are humanly possible to pick up. Period.

Quoted from YeOldPinPlayer:

Again, it's irrelevant if you think it's perceptible. Does it change the shot is the relevant question.
If a 3 ms variation can't change a barely made it into a brick off the post then it's an insignificant difference.

As stated ...... no different than any other WPC or WPC95 game out there.

All I can say is...... great job doing this analysis.
