    Stern and other manufacturers cant make enough to keep up with the demand right now so there little incentive to change what they are doing to compete with one company. Sure it would it be easy to make just fully populated playfields but then they would have to add extras like rails, instructions and provide support for a swapping community which maybe a small market. Multimorphic P3 is King of the "swappable" pinball niche at the moment.
