I've made lots of my own backglasses using the "translite method". There's so many machines out there that nobody will probably ever screen glass for, and it has allowed me to complete the restoration of some of my prized personal machines. Once installed in the game, there's really very little difference in appearance. Luckily I have many years behind me working as a digital illustrator and graphic artist so I can be meticulous with the art. Until a screened glass is made (or if ever) it's a great solution to a blown out glass. Likewise, I've also made my own plastics. Just don't go outside of personal use under your own roof, or you're into licence infringement territory.
