I noticed while ACDC holds a 2 lead in worldwide album sales compared to Metallica, their U.S. sales are much closer, like 4:3 (In 2009 ACDC was at 71M and Metallica at 53M U.S. sales).

I like hype. I enjoy hype. But hype is just that, hype.

The thing is if you say X-Men is going to be the best game ever and 10k by Xmas.........and then you sell your own X-Men, it kind of leaves a credibility gap, eh

Im a metallica fan and have been since about 83-84 unfortunatly black album and out they went to hell so i say if the music is recent from load reload etc they can keep it.
The band went from hardcore original with heavy venom and motorhead influenced music to the mainstream crap they make now, and changed into a bunch of money whores.
So i suppose it depends how the machine is built and what tracks they use in it but either way im not too excited about it atm.

Does anyone really think an AC/DC fan or Metallica fan who isn't already a pinhead would drop $6-$7k on a pinball? I would think that hardly ever happens, and by hardly, I mean, literally just a few sold to non-pin fans.

I would expect though that fans of the band would be more likely to drop quarters into a machine on route, so that would be where the benefit of the license would be seen. Perhaps that's partly why ac/dc is doing well on route.

I own an ACDC Premium and think that Metallica will be just as popular. Why? Both are very unique in their own ways and from what I can tell incorporate music in different ways. There are pro's to each and neither will play the same. I only wish I could afford both!
