I understand leaving out physical materials to reduce the BOM on a machine, but eliminating a mode from a machine seems like it wouldn't save Stern anything. Why does this mode not exist on the Pro? And now that the Eli ramp mod is a reality, will this ever be a reality?

That is the $5000 question.

It was a LE only feature.

Couldn't someone code this into a future home game rom? If it isn't hardware based all the code for it is right in the LE code... Just needs to be ported over to pro code

I've never even finished SOS sooooooo I'm not too heartbroken it's not there... much happier saving the $5k for another machine

Because, What would be the difference from the pro with Eli's mod then? A few drop targets and some lighting?

yeah, i saw it in your lineup... and thought it would be a chuckle.
i get razzed constantly about my Mr & Mrs Pacman Pin.
think i'm the only person on the planet who likes it.
the CPR guys fell over laughing when i asked about any possibility for new plastics for it a while back.

I love the pacman pin. Solving those mazes is super fun.

If you have played the Daft Punk Multi-ball, then you gotta ask yourself "Is this worth it?"
IMO, it's not that much game play feature-wise. You don't need to complete it in order to advance the ladder (to reach Portal/SOS). IIRC, Extra Ball is HARDER in LE than PRO - It's achieved in Daft Punk instead of just simple ramp(s) shot.

What is really the accomplishment to get a Daft Punk multi-ball?
IMO, nothing. (I know I'm gonna get thumbs downed for this-but it's IMO)
It's hard to get (8 ramp shorts - 4 each)

What's accomplished? Points, multi-ball mode.
What's missed(Possibly)? Extra Ball

What's in the Pro? 3 other Muti-Balls that are IMO, easier to obtain, and add to ladder status if completed. Easier extra ball via 12 ramp shots (default).

If I owned the LE, would I actually try for daft-punk muti-ball? No, unless I was one shot away. Even then, I would think twice (or three times) about it, if I was a couple shots away from starting a different mode that was to complete my ladder for SOS.

It could be a licensing issue based on the volume of production. Also if you got everything in a base model why would anyone pay More?

Daft Punk really only had one good album anyway...

That's debatable.

I really like the Tron soundtrack and Random Access Memories has had enough play for me to say it must be at least okay in my books as background mustic).

But apparently they do not have a single good multiball from the posts so far

no thumb down, we're all nice guys but...

- not at all (as i was complaining the code to have nothing available with these ramp shoots after that)
- yes of course, in every games, a very cool "add-a-ball" multiball !
