20,000 made, plenty around, but near impossible to find a sub-$4k machine. I know it's a good game, but why does it command such a relatively high price? Is demand that strong?

Thanks for all the posts, you've convinced me (not really, I made the decision before I started the thread). Picked up a TAF yesterday. It's in good condition, plays 100%. It has an eos flipper swtich issue (tackled on another thread), but flipper is working. Has some minor wear around the mansion, one of the inlanes is a bit rough, electric chair definitely needs a cliffy, and topper lights and the "i" in thing don't work (hoping just bulbs), but overall, seems like a pretty nice machine. No magnet burn or cracked plastics, but seller gave me a new plastic ramp assembly so that will go in soon. Cabinet in decent shape, some wear around the flippers. Plays fast. Seller upgraded the speaker so sound is very good. Won't say what I paid, but I think I got a decent price for today's market (horrible price if you look 6-months to a year back.)
Yep, topper and "I" now working, just bulbs. Eos switch just a broken wire on another flipper so that should be easy fix. Ball gets stuck in the swamp every now and then, slight nudge and it's loose. Will have to find a fix.
Quoted from snyper2099:I see them consistently sell for 2500-3500. WhereTF did 5500 come from?.
Really? You find me two at 2500-3000 that are good playing condition (unshopped) and I will take them, and ill give you a 5% commission. Take a look around now and you can't find them under 4k and I'm not talking about eBay.
