Here's the reasons I like MM the most:

1) Rules are not too complicated but it has enough strategy entwined into it that it's an excellent and gripping player.
2) The humour is awsome!
3) The artwork and look of the game is excellent (for a DMD game!)
4) The 'smart bombs' are a challenge to get and a useful tool in the game. see '1'.
5) Barnyard multiball is a blast, and getting it is entertaining.
6) The video-mode is silly enough to be fun.
7) The callouts are excellent, especially from the damsels... see '2'.
8) It's got great ramp combo flow culminating in one of the most satisfying shots in pinball: The rescuing of the damsel!
9) The collapsing castle with working gate and drawbridge is probably the coolest toy on any pinball.
10) The trolls are great to whack and not as annoying as the Gofers...
11) The sound package is excellent!

I'm sure there's more...

I disagree... you can't get everything else by default on this game, that's no 12 on my list... you have to play the game 'properly' to get the most out of it... shooting for the castle won't get you very far at all, even with flailing shots hitting a load of other stuff

Oh yeah, and sometimes you get this really weird low frequency kind of 'groan' come out of it that makes you think 'WTF was that!!??'... anyone else notice this? I never figured out what triggered that sound-bite...

I don't think anyone could... you'd have to be very bad to miss the castle so far as to get all the other features going

I don't think knowing that the game takes money explains why people like it... it just demonstrates that people like it... why they like it is the subjective stuff...

I suggest it is the best pin because people like it... no? I wouldn't say it's the best pin because it earns the most money on site... I'd say it earns the most money on site because it's the best pin... and it is the best pin because people like it... so the question of 'why it is the best pin' is the same as 'why do people like it'... This is getting a bit philosophical
