Bigger question is why is WWE on the cover? Biggest pinball fail in probably two decades.

I didnt know he did WWF at all, so is that going to be super cheap "pedopin" now? I wouldnt mind getting some his Gameplan/Gottlieb/Williams/Stern pins super cheap

WWE is cheap because nobody likes it.

John's criminal case has had ZERO effect on the rest of his titles despite some grandstanding by many when it first happened. Some even removed his games from their lineups, which had us on pins and needles...but they've crept back!

I would prob do a retheme on one, though.

It's always been cheap, but mostly becasue it sucks.

Meanwhile, is Judge Dredd still a $1400 game, folks?

#9 5 years ago

If you want to sell his games because owning them makes you feel uncomfortable I get it, you should do whatever makes you feel right, they're just toys.

If you don't want to support his future endeavors, whatever they might be, do it. I think we're probably all in that boat, though it seems pretty unlikely anyone will have to worry about that.

But I don't agree with erasing history, or having to pretend he didn't make games. Those interviews happened, don't read them if you don't like, but let's not pretend we don't all know who he is or that his games aren't famous.

I wish. It easily goes for double that these days.

Double that and not even fully operational...pinflation is real.

Given that he has two criminal trials going now, one in Dupage county 2017CF001743 (child porn possession) and the other in Will County 2018CF000969 (child sexual assault of a family member in the mid-90's), yeah, unlikely he'll be doing anything in any industry outside prison walls ever again.

Moderator's comment:

Folks, we are aware of some of the opinions that some of you might like to express about the guy, but please keep in mind that the forum rules are still in effect and this topic does not excuse you of that. Anything over the line or anything that could be considered a personal attack will still be moderated like in any other thread. If you can't handle this topic or don't have something constructive to add to the discussion, then please consider just draining it and moving on. There are almost a dozen new topics created every hour that I'm sure would be a lot less stressful than this one to participate in. Thanks.

No way I'm parting with my Congo. Sorry the guy is a creep, but i'm not deleting an amazing game from my lineup because of who made it. Anyone who feels like they need to move on i've got a sweet hundred spot for a nice Creature. I mean you seriously can't expect to get top dollar for a game made by a criminal right?

Sorry,Fans, but I don't think his personal business is any of ours!!

#20 5 years ago

Try and remember that there are more people behind the development of a game than the lead. JT lead a lot of classic table designs, but that doesn't make any single one of them a "pedopin" lest you want to include his design team into the mix.

Someone I've known since I was 13 was busted for possession of child porn in 2014 (his charges made JT's look like nothing in comparison ... and the frigging scumbag only sat in jail for 3 months!!!! But that's another story). The dude is dead to me, but I'm not going to forget my entire teenage and early 20s years because of what he did later in life. I'll never talk with that piece of trash ever again of course, but erasing him from photos and other stuff isn't going to solve anything.

The only pinball related stuff I'd have a problem with is if people were buying anything 'new' made by JT that would fund his disgusting lifestyle. However, I don't think he'll be designing any pinball machine ever again.

Lol. Wow.

This is a guy who blames rap for destroying neighborhoods! Also didn’t think much of Muhammad ali’s “Personal Business” in the 60s.

I will say it’s not “personal business” now that it’s public business, a matter of record.

So when I hear people going to the bank tying to get a "personal business loan," is that really just aboot kiddie porn and sexually assaulting a young relative?

EDIT: (ALLEGEDLY)

No, it's usually about whatever lies and BS and information they forgot to mention or write down in hopes of securing that loan.

I gave you the county courthouses and both case numbers. Google is your friend. Search the county courthouse, then use their case search to find the case.

Goddamn man you are out of your mind if you think KISS is worse than WWE. Kiss is great.

Nobody hates WWE cause it's the "cool thing to do." They hate it cause it sucks.

Holy cow, could you not be more wrong. WWE isn't even in the same UNIVERSE as KISS (or its offspring, Aerosmith). It's it unequovically, without a doubt the worst game Stern has done in at least one, possibly two decades, and may be the worst pin of the 21st century. I say "may" because I haven't played Dominoes or Thunderbirds. But yeah, WWE (LE, too) is WAY down the list. SUPER bad.

But if you think WWE is so awesome, why isn't it on your wishlist? Sell the Royal Rumble and kick in a few thousand bucks, and I'm sure you could EASILY find someone wanting to unload a WWE on you.

I like Wrestlemania. I think there are lots of Stern pins that are worse than Wrestlemania personally. I did put my money where my mouth was and I picked one up. I drove the farthest I have ever driven to pick up a game to bring home a beautiful HUO one and I am glad I did. Could the game be better, absolutely, but it's not a cookie cutter layout and it's super difficult so it appeals to me. Plus I like the Wrestling theme, not as much the newer wrestling characters, but I wasn't going to spring for the LE with the classic wrestlers at that time. Part of the hate for Wrestlemania is the original code with the amount of time spent in the ring and that has been fixed. Also, the ruleset is not easy to follow, so it gets hate because people can't figure it out. There are certainly some things that need to be fixed code wise, but it is currently my only game that I haven't ever gotten to the wizard mode on, so it keeps me coming back for more.

I played a WWE LE (again) last year with the latest code and it was still really boring to play. The ring bumper things and spinny wheels added absolutely no fun to the game. Maybe if I was a fan that was really into the featured wrestlers it would color my opinion enough to overlook the boringness, but I'm not, so it just plays boring and slow to me.

But hey, if you like it, by all means, keep liking it, I'm not gonna tell you to stop. People like what they like. I like the Johnny Mnemonic pin and people hate on that pin all the time. It has an awesome Midnight Madness mode. But when someone delusionally says WWE is better than KISS, them's fightin' words because WWE is nowhere close to KISS.

Then I guess we're rumbling, because KISS SUCKS.

No rumble required you can like any crappy pin you want (I have my guilty pleasures, too, but I'd NEVER try to say they were great pins). KISS LE>WWE LE is an objective fact. KISS even wins comparing pros. Rules are lame, play is slow and unrewarding.

Opinions can be unpleasant to grind out.

Kiss does suck, but its nowhere near as bad as WWE. I played a "Deva" edition and couldn't believe how horrible it was. That said, I guess if you like sweaty men rolling around together while everyone watches, I guess the WWE would actually appeal to you. ( not directed directly at you, just in general )

Finally, the voice of reason.
The middle ramp on Kiss ain't bad, and I actually like the star child area, nothing else few good at all. And WWE, Jesus what a disaster.

RGB light show on KISS Prem/LE and the lovegun levitation are fantastic.

WWE was kept secret until launch and caught everyone with their pants down. Of course it was featured in PinballNews and given the cover. We all wanted to know more and the timing of the article and cover story was perfect. It focused a spotlight on the game and brought eyeballs. Many of us reminisced about our favorite wrestlers as WWE stood on its own merits, but it has fared poorly since.

Kiss seems to still be missing something ... like maybe an update. With Aerosmith out off the way, GB code is being worked on and Kiss has moved to the batters box.

PSA: Looks like Trudeau's main case (there are 2 now) is getting close to the end. Next court date in Dec he will cop a plea or the trial will be scheduled. 16 months to get to this point. Crazy.

Looks like Trudeau is going for a plea. The next court date in Jan is for a plea. The last one was to choose to seat a jury for a trial or choose a plea. Looks like he chose plea. 1-19-19 is the next court date.

For those following along, Trudeau was transferred to Taylorville Correctional Center this week. No idea why.

perhaps taylorville has a chemistry lab where he will be able to work on a new and improved clear coat formula.

Wait, you work at the prison he was at originally and did his intake strip search? Talk about a new perspective on pinball...
