Bingo. LOL
Maybe this is a stupid post but here goes….I would think if Slash had so much involvement in this game he would be putting some pressure on JJP to figure the shit out. We have all heard about how was involved in a daily basis. Now nothing. Has he and the band got their cash and now they’re gone? Just wouldn’t think anyone would want to be attached to a game that has so many issues. Basic issues but then again, if he’s gotten paid he’s out

New flash
Slash couldn’t give two shits about this

Marketing wank... pure and simple.
Quoted from zr11990:Where is John Greatwich? He has been printing playfields on a printer for a long time. His don’t fall apart. Maybe he could shed some light on the subject.
He uses Varathane, no thanks.
Quoted from iceman44:As far as that goes I still haven’t heard anyone come up with a credible guesstimate of what the extent of the problem is? 10%? 80%?
If it's closer to the 10% - JJP should quickly communicate with those customers and take care of them so the mob cools down - but it seems that they have yet to satisfactorily do that this which makes me think its much higher than that.
I always say every business is in the exact same business - whether you sell cars, pinball machines, food or give financial advice - the business is customer service

Spooky as well. My RZ playfield was stunning and perfect all around.

I’m thinking JJP is doing what Stern did with GB and deal with it on a case by case basis. Why would they handle it any other way?
It’s the only way they can realistically deal with the issue, fix the problem, and move on to the next game which will also sell out because they make some of the best games on the planet.
The issue with Stern on GB was much worse and affected a huge number of pf’s to some degree. Ghosting of inserts and chipping. Heads were twisting off then and Stern was “finished”. They ultimately did what they could
My GNRCE and WonkaCE pf’s make my current GBLE pf look like garbage. To quote someone else above, “they are stunning and perfect all the way around”
Bottom line you are correct Bmore, customer service is HUGE and JJP will end up dealing with the issue by taking care of affected customers.
Not necessarily how the perfection minority mob group wants it handled?
Most of us have been around long enough to understand what’s reasonable and what to expect.
There is also another Stern minority mob that whines about how little Stern puts in their games for the money on every release. Then they sell out.
Quoted from iceman44:I’m thinking JJP doing what Stern did with GB and deal with it on a case by case basis. Why would they handle it any other way?
I mostly agree, but my point being, if it's only around 10% and they were doing a good job of handling it on a case by case basis - the mob would not be in an uproar.
But from what I have read, nobody with issues has reported a satisfactory response from JJP

It took Stern a long time to address the issue and figure out how widespread the issue was and what to do about it.
I’m sure JJP will deal with it. How many people have reported issues? I don’t know. I’ve seen a handful? People are freaking out that the same thing MIGHT happen to their game, therefore replace them all. Mob is unrealistic

The problem spans across their last 3 games and seems to have gotten worse with GnR. Curious though...WOZ YBR was released during this time and I have not seen one owner come out about chipping around posts. Who made those playfields?
Quoted from JodyG:He uses Varathane, no thanks.
Verithane sucks but the ink stays on. The ink sticking to the wood is the problem.

To be fair, this issue goes back to Pirates and then Wonka - so JJP has also had a long time to deal with it
If it is only a small minority of people with issues, than JJP should of communicate quickly and clearly with these few individuals that they will be taken care of. My guess is it's more widespread than that, hence the lack of action. Lucky for me, I don't have a horse in the race, except that I did want to buy a GNR LE so I have been watching closely to see how JJP handles this... so far I am not impressed.

The playfielsd were shit starting with Woz.
Quoted from zr11990:The playfielsd were shit starting with Woz.
Not true at all. PERIOD! My WOZ, Hobbit and Dialed In are perfect. It started with Pirates for sure. Something changed with the chemical process. Go back to how Hobbit was done to make sure and the problem is solved.

My game has a defective play field. I would like it replaced with a non-defective one. JJP refuses to do this.
End of story.

Quoted from iceman44:Because these games are so GREAT overall you all know that FOMO will take over again and TOY STORY will sell out CEs immediately AGAIN!
It’s just the way it is. Why? Because not enough people will STOP buying JJP games even under the current conditions.
Pinball people know the overall value they get.
If I wasn’t 100% correct then you wouldn’t be able to sell a JJP POTC for anything yet the CEs go for $35k now
Stop and think about that for a minute. Then get a raincoat for all that “pissing in the wind”.
I cannot tell you how irritating and frustrating it is for me to tell you that you're right.
You have people like me that will hit the PAUSE button and refuse to buy anything NIB until this is fixed. There are WAY TOO MANY people writing checks to make anything change...
I hate how much I agree with you on this. I really do : (.
What Im say is that the problem is with the ink not adhering to the wood. It has nothing to do with the clear so him using verithane is not part of the equation. The ink doesn't chip off of his PFs

Then people deserve what they get. People can buy used games with no issues as the people who dont care about shit PFs sell old games to buy new.

You really need stop with this "mob" crap. Now. There are legitimate people here who paid big bucks for a game where the primary piece of infrastructure is literally coming apart and JJPs response is either "tough shit" or "here are some free washers". You can demonize these owners all you want to make you feel better about your moral superiority and how perfect and flawless your games are (which I highly doubt is actually the case but being a fanboy requires devotion). However, none of that changes the fact that JJP has completely dropped the ball here in every possible way. But hey, you do you...

I get that, but we don't know the factors behind why the ink doesn't stay on. Is it a reaction with the clear coat, whether is be the curing process, chemical makeup, use of it underneath the ink, ect? We don't know. The use of verathane automatically makes any playfield knowledge pretty suspect to me anyway, I don't care what other qualities his stuff has if he keeps willingly using a known bad idea.

Sending me a play field and replacing my play field are two completely different things.

Remember, my offer to playfield swap for people in this forum still is standing. 100 bucks and I keep the old playfield. I'll swap it for you.

My Hobbit has been great too - I agree that seems to be their best playfield.

WOZ I had when I removed a star post in the slings to add lights for GI the entire star post pulled the ink off to bare wood when i removed it, the ink/clear was so thick and soft it was ridiculous. Hobbit was and is there only game that has good playfields universally that ive seen from JJP but Ive never owned a DI so cant say much on that game.
Quoted from nicoy3k:That's a great deal!
Thanks. I certainly am not doing to make a buck, either. I just figured... shit.. that is a lot of work. I should get SOMETHING outta it. Lol

On my WoZ a circle about the size of a quarter just chipped off the PF. There are pics out there where the ink was totally chipped off around the pop bumpers. Jersey Junk Playfields has been doing this shit since they started. Fuck you Jack.
I only want to buy a GNR LE if and when JJP starts shipping games without washers installed all over the place. That's the indicator that this issue has finally been resolved. Washers installed all over are not only ugly but also represent admittance that games are being shipped with faulty playfields.

I heard a batch of WOZ playfields by Bader were bad. Mine is fine. In this post, they did recognize an issue before GNR was done.

That was a shit pf for sure. I have one.
Today? Not so much. Lighten up Francis and enjoy your games
When is Toy Story launching? Lol
I'm going to start making playfields and use a tempered glass coating instead of clear coat..... But seriously, I know Mirco posts here....why nothing on this matter?
Quoted from insight75:I'm going to start making playfields and use a tempered glass coating instead of clear coat..... But seriously, I know Mirco posts here....why nothing on this matter?
Because people would attempt to hold them accountable and ask how they are addressing the issue. They would rather just be silent, it's much much easier.

I had a RRWOZ that had a chip - RRs would have been long after they dumped Bader.
I would advise you to install a cliffy on the side of your upper WoZ PF if you haven’t already!

Really .... you actually don't know why.
pasted_image (resized).pngQuoted from zr11990:The playfielsd were shit starting with Woz.
Strictly true, but misleading.
Bader's original ECLE playfields sucked and large chunks of PF art started coming off in high vibration areas like the pop bumpers. That's what sent JJP into the arms of Mirco. The REST of the WoZ runs with Mirco were FINE. Hobbit was FINE the whole run to my knowledge. The problems started up again with Dialed In, which had major clearcoat chipping problems. Then with Wonka the sagging, pooling, and chipping off art started and hasn't been fixed since. Essentially the same playfield issues to varying degrees on Wonka, jjPotC, and jjGnR, but jjGnR seems to be especially bad.
Quoted from PinMonk:The REST of the WoZ runs with Mirco were FINE. Hobbit was FINE the whole run to my knowledge. The problems started up again with Dialed In, which had major clearcoat chipping problems.
Ill bet that is when they started with the printer instead of screenprinting but I have no idea.
Quoted from zr11990:Ill bet that is when they started with the printer instead of screenprinting but I have no idea.
I thought I read somewhere that Mirco got the fancy digital printing machine in 2017, which would mean they COULD had made Dialed In that way, but unlikely since it came out at the beginning of 2017. Dunno for sure, but from Wonka on for sure.
Quoted from snakesnsparklers:Spooky as well. My RZ playfield was stunning and perfect all around.
spooky uses Bader I think. could be totally wrong but I think they do.
I love the wishful thinking that maybe it is only 10% of PF’s effected by the issues. I bet almost all if not all will have the issues at some point based on what the actual problem is. JJP is loving that the subject keeps getting clouded by people. Maybe it is cure time. Geez.
Quoted from Damonator:I had a RRWOZ that had a chip - RRs would have been long after they dumped Bader.

Yep, my RRWOZ upper playfield had a giant chunk of artwork come off within a week of taking it out of the box. Many of the original WOZ had playfield chipping as well.

I just checked my Dialed In (pin build date 8/18/2017) - PF has no issues. Even the dimpling is minimal, really nice looking PF.
