Do you guys know what im talking about? You know sometimes when you just finished a game and your about to see if your score matches the number for a free game then POP!, like a golf ball hit your cabinet.

Are you referring to the knocker when you successfully match? Love that thwack!

That's a notification of a free game for a match after the game is over, or your bonus on the last ball made your score earn a replay.

It's a knocker attached to the side of the cabinet, or backbox that basically is a solenoid with a doorbell plunger in it, that when it fires "knocks" on the side of the cabinet.

Or you have a lot of golf balls inside your game.

Are you playing No Good Gofers?

The best is when you get the new High Score to Date and are awarded three replays (POP, POP, POP). Drives my wife crazy

It means that you have finally "arrived" Donny- and you have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass... and you are all out of bubblegum!

The newer digital knockers are VERY loud- especially in a small room...
Don't do too well on LOTR at 1AM, with the windows open... Unless you really hate your neighbor!!!
    (Which I kinda do... )

Thanks guys, so that knock isnt a bad thing

    #9 12 years ago

It is a bad thing if your wife beats your high scores, if that's the case might as well sell your pins and get a new hobby haha

I know how that feels and Im outta gum myself. Actually, this is how I prepare to get lost in the zone.

Hey my wife kicks ASS at pinball!
I should be so lucky to have a partner in which to share this- "hobby!"
That is why TRON and WOZ are STILL on the way (in the same year as buying LOTR NIB..!) !!!
What other "wives" would be cool with that..? (I could probably count them on one hand. )
AND I still get to sleep in the big bed!

My wife is good too, and enjoys pinball and even helps me fix them, still doesn't mean she can have any highscores

    #14 12 years ago

still doesn't mean she can have any highscores

    Maybe tom,
But I would much rather see her "score" up there...

    images-2.jpegimages-2.jpeg

And being that I am such a "good sport" I will get to break that "score" later... Eh BD?

    #15 12 years ago

If that was my wife, I would have better things to do than play pinball

    #16 12 years ago

That is why she is better than me in the first place!!!
    No distractions on her end..!

I always disconnect my knocker (before my wife become crazier... )
