Some people stick with a hobby. Some people don't. Some people overdo and burn out. Some people enjoy part of pinball be it playing, collecting, fixing, shows, the people, etc. and lose sight of what they once liked about it. Some find other interests that bring them more enjoyment.

And some finally met beelzeboob and called it a day. They'd reached the pinnacle of the hobby and it's all downhill from there.

    Quoted from beelzeboob:

I know a couple people that won't even take the glass off. That can get frustrating--and boring--really quickly.

Lots of people play with the glass on.

    Quoted from Rdoyle1978:

The budget I set for myself allows about 4 games; 1 high priced one, 2 mid-priced, one cheapo. That is an incredibly small scope to work in,

And yet you have a fine collection that can bring you lots of fun and enjoyment, if you let it.

Give me two or three guys in a garage playing a High Speed with half the paint worn off and things not all working. Having a beer. Laughing and having a great time with their friends. That is pinball.

How in the hell would Pinside make someone get out of pinball?

Some people take it personally when attacked, and others pile on.

Now I just follow you on Facebook.

Does your wife still have more pinball friends on Facebook than you ?

I remember when your plan to increase your friends got everybody to friend her.

    Quoted from Colsond3:

Why did I not see this "patented" stellar Beelze move on SW at Pintastic every time you drained in under 15 seconds?

That was it. Without the patented beelzeboob ball save, the ball would drain in under a second. So fast you couldn't see it.

I do also feel that people with a lot of money have ruined this hobby in a lot of ways.

You can think that about any hobby that gets popular.

The other side though is more games available, new and used. And way more parts too. Growth has really helped pinball.

They die. Expire. Kick the bucket.

    The only way out.

I wonder if some people get into pinball. See how exciting it is from posts on newsgroups and forums. Get all caught up in it. And ignore a lot of the real happenings.

And get their first game. New or used. Then they find out they have to set it up. May have to clean it. May have to fix it. A thing or two needs attention from shipping.

And they go ape crap. Make all kinds of posts all over the internet on what a bad seller someone is or what a crappy company some company is.

And bail. Never really having ever been into pinball. Never really enjoying pinball.

You'll also notice which one gets more action,

The one with a poll ?
