    Quoted from metallik:

Of course.. that's the only way the buyer is going to be able to make an informed decision. Trying to sell a game online without pictures is just stupid, so having them ready before posting the ad is common sense.

That is just your opinion of common sense. Doesn't mean it's everybodys.

    #102 8 years ago

I was going to be nice and let it go cheap. But after all the shit the buyer put me through I've decided why sell it cheap? I don't need the money. I could take all 60 games and have a bonfire in the backyard and it wouldn't hurt me.

Then the contact me again on Pinside. Owns his own hotel. Got more money then me. Charges over $600 a night for some of his rooms. And I'm going to sell cheap. He didn't even want to pay me in cash. Want me to take 2-days voucher to the hotel. Yup right. Knock another $1,000 off the game. Not.

Regardless of price, and all the other directions this thread is going... I have to agree with the OP on the Original Post.. seriously common courtesy is simple, yet not practiced.. I ask for pictures, after I get them, I let the buyer know what I think, if it is not worth it on my end, I thank them for sending, if I want to get it I might ask for a few more details...

It is not that hard to be courteous, especially with all the technology today.. a simple thank you takes all of 3 seconds to type and send.. Even when buying items from other people on the site, you send them a payment and they do not even respond to acknowledge they got it, or thank you for sending it..

Personally, I always try to be courteous to everyone I deal with, and let them know what is going on, if I sell something I let them know I got the payment and it shipped, and I thank them. If someone sends me pictures or details, I thank them.. not that hard..

I have really gotten to the point of being fed up with Pinsiders. You can get passed off if you want.

I usually just pass out instead.

And I don't understand why so many have to throw tantrums over nothing.

    #106 8 years ago

And guess what? You have developed a nice network of good business. Your name travels. People vouch for you even when you don't know it.

Guys that think it dosn't matter have have less opportunities. They don't know it though. They know it all remember?

I don't know man. It seems like I'm the one doing all the buying these days.

I have sold 10 more games then I would have just by networking.

You're the one that thinks that they are entitled to pictures because you as a buyer are owed them. Guess what DB, nobody owes you squat. Take your gimme gimme NYC attitude and stick it where the sun don't shine

I'm gonna have to get clarification on this one.

Why does living in NYC mean I have a "gimme gimme attitude?"

You realize how insane the cost of living is around here? A pack of cigs is $15!!! Parking for an hour can be 30 clams.

Gimme gimme?! I live in a small apartment that costs more a month than a used jet ski for christs sake!

Yeah , gimme gimme. Nobody is giving me shit for free around here. Well except rubbers. The health department gives away rubbers.

Back to the subject at hand... Uh...
What are we arguing about again? I feel entitled to an answer! Gimme gimme!

    #110 8 years ago

I hardly ever sold games. Always buying. That's how I got to 60. My friends think I'm crazy for some of the games I've bought. But to watch the kids and newbies faces is why I did it.

So trying to find Pinheads that have enough room to get kids games like Super Mario Bros, and rescue 911.

Tell me, under what circumstances would you buy a pinball machine, costing thousands of dollars, from a stranger on the internet.. without any pictures?

I think my opinion of common sense is pretty universal.

    #112 8 years ago

Yes. I've had to go to NYC for work. I couldn't believe it. The can't have parking meters. They only take credit cards. Daily parking was $150. Crazy stuff.

I ask for pictures. Is that so hard to understand? After I get them I send an email telling the seller that I got them and if I want more. Then I say "Thank You"

That's the point. You shouldn't have to ask. The seller should already have pics ready to go. If it's a situation where the seller can only email pics, then they should be thanking YOU for taking the time to wait for them and then looking over the game.

I'm not against being polite. Sellers should be thankful people are willing to look at their stuff in the first place. Some of y'all just got it backwards. This all is assuming the seller actually wants to sell something and not just complain...

    #116 8 years ago

I hope no one. Unless they talked on the phone and was close enough to drive over to look and play them. I had a couple guys do that. Nicest guys you could meet. We were like big kids checking them out.

I was very honest with them. And I think they had a good buying experience also. They liked more bang for the buck pins. And that was cool for me.

    #117 8 years ago

Thanks. Now I can't get the ABBA song (Gimme Gimme Gimme) A Man after Midnight out of my head.

    Guess I'll call kaneda.

I get a kick out of sellers who want top dollar for games and then don't post any pictures.

Here's the reality of the situation.

No pictures... no sale (unless you find some kind of sucker).

Buyers shouldn't have to beg the seller to get pictures and then feel they need to strap-on the knee pads thanking them if they eventually do send some.

    Here are the observations:

If the buyers are interested you'll hear back from them.

If by some freak of nature they don't receive the pictures you'll hear back from them.

If they are not interested there's a good chance you won't hear back from them.

So if you don't hear back from them, you can be pretty-certain they ain't interested.

Half the time the pictures suck. Sellers either are too lazy to take decent ones or they are intentionally crappy because they are trying to hide something.

Sellers need to remember one important thing. They need the buyer more than the buyer needs them and they should be grateful anyone is even interested enough to request pictures.

    #119 8 years ago

Did have pics ready to go for the game they contacted me about. They asked for a unlisted game in the collection. After getting them the pictures and sending info about what's been done to the game I find that I must have been talking to myself. Because there is no one there? Lol

Sellers should be thankful for someone like you? I wouldn't sell you anything with that attitude. What a moron.

    #123 8 years ago

I guess everyone on here thinks you should kiss there ass for having an interest on buying your machine. Hate to tell you folks only reason i sell a machine is because i am bored with it, dont need to sell it anyway. Because im rich bitch!

How about people that have been on a forum for multiple years, sells pinball machines on it yet can't bother to donate a few dollars.

What are they? Morons or discourteous? Something else?

    #125 8 years ago

I had a BOP listed for 2800. Full tear down and shop. New heartbeat ramp. Nice original playfield with low ware. Led's. Nice backglass. New full cabinet decals and new legs and protectors. I listed it for 2800. Yes I didn't get the pictures up the same day. And I herd about it. All good.

I got them up though. Then all everyone did is harass me. Even telling me Why didn't I post pics of the new heartbeat ramp. And I did take pictures of it. It turned into one big harassment.

Anyway I ended up selling for the 2800 to someone that contacted me on craigslist.

If want something nice ask your mom to help you out. Don't ask for the nicer game to come down to your project pockets. Haha.

Grandpa can't figure out the "Quote" button, I doubt he'd figure out how to upload a picture to a website.

Pinbum I'm in the same position. And I used to be broke as shit looking in the windows. I have a game house I don't rent or even live in. Buying and selling is a 50/50. How many times have you had the cash and we're looking for a game and lost it to someone else? Sucks if it was what you might have wanted.

When I want something I want it. The wife better not get in my way!

I'm still waiting on somebody to ask for a shooter lane pic so I can send them a picture of a junk. Centerflank has PM'd but didn't have the cash.

I haven't donated for the simple fact that I'm on a fixed income of $800 a month. Nothing left over

    #141 8 years ago

I think everyone selling games should first take alot of good and detailed images, and either put them up with the add or have them ready to send if people asks for it. Its a courtesty to say thanks but its nothing Id expect or be pissed about not getting.

So fed up with people putting pinballs for sale here in norway with some crap smartphone photos of sometimes just the back box etc,
and not actually describing the game, its shape, what might be faulty and so on. And often accompanied by a price that is way out of bounds, at least when you cant even write a proper ad. Oh well, thats the state of pinball sales on norwegians answer to craigslist

Whenever someone doesn't say thanks for something I did for them, like holding the door open, I always give a sarcastic "You're welcome!". Usually gets a look from them.
