Couple observations.
Time line B/W competing Sega /Data East was when manufactures bussiness model was to route operators. Sega/Data East were less money for the OPS to lay out for a new title for their route.
I cannot give exact % difference. Maybe long time operator can chime in.
You get what you pay for.
In 1990s vendor did not design for 30 year lifecycles or eventual home use. I believe 90 days was warranty back then. OPS chime in if this is incorrect.
In this environment concept you only build a title to make money for both operator and DE/Sega. Considering DE/Sega then Stern was last man standing guess they made what seems like good choice.
Cost aside DE/Sega do have different flipper feel. Get past that and you may find they made some good titles. I have lots fun with mine.
