Quoted from Rarehero:

The show is made by 100’s of artists. There is no “main artist for the show”.

And those hundreds would have stuck to what the show looks like. Not their rendition as this artist did.

Where are the

Why didn't you buy Elvira?

Why didn't you buy Wonka?

Why didn't you buy Munsters?

Why didn't you buy Oktoberfest?

Why didn't you buy POTC?

...etc...threads?

I guess the answer on all those must be obvious.

Why do we have to live in a world where we have to make a non-refundable deposit for a game we can't play.

You don't! There will be like-new HUO games for sale months before the last R&M is even a gleam in Charlie's eye. You only have to commit $1k sight-unseen if you like opening cardboard boxes.

#310 4 years ago

I like opening cardboard boxes only if what is inside is relevant.

Well, it'd need to be shipped either way... Might as well come boxed from the factory.

Yah second hand is an option. My ~2 years in the hobby, the market for used machines is pretty mellow here. Takes serious luck to get a title you want.

But back to the original point - what you propose is a workaround to how mfg's are doing business. Yah for Stern you can wait for a show, and they support volume that allows you to play and buy. Unless you want the LE of a popular game. For botique like Spookie, this is the way it is. And given that the number of machines in the US is prob <500, prob very difficult to get one second hand. Hence my conclusion is I have to go for it and buy NIB unless I'm on the fence and don't completely care about getting one.

Some people say they didn't have any interest in R&M because it's a Spooky game, and didn't enjoy their prior experiences with Spooky games.

If you're talking hardware, then that's totally fair. If you're talking gameplay, design, layouts, rules, etc, then that's not entirely fair. You can really only compare it to TNA. If you liked TNA then you should love R&M since it'll be TNA taken to the next level.

From what I've heard and read this is mostly the case.

Quoted from TheLaw:

Totally get it, although I believe Scott & Charlie said that they are installing better hardware this time around, which is why the game costs $500 more than last time. It's great to hear but I'll believe it when I see it.

The TNA we had on location did very well. I think I opened it up maybe twice? Both fixes were simple. Granted, this game was not in a commercial location, and only had maybe 5,000 plays on it, but still it did very well vs everything else we had.

#320 4 years ago

Yep TNA felt great.

I fall into the camp that I do not enjoy TNA. No disrespect to people that like TNA or worked on it, but I love the Rick and Morty theme but am not enthused by the manufacturer. This made it a pass for me for preordering. I look forward to trying it onsite and making a decision by how it plays as to if I would buy one or not.

#324 4 years ago

People didn't buy because they have flooble crank envy.

#325 4 years ago
Quoted from DBLM:

I fall into the camp that I do not enjoy TNA.

I'm actually in the same camp. I dislike the game as a solo game in itself. It's too repetative. LOVE the game as a party game.

But I love the sound, lights, and speed. I'm immersed in the gameplay because of those things. When my ball drains, I really don't care to plunge another one. When I do plunge and the sound/lights begin, I don't want it to stop.

It's complicated.

I hope I don't get downvoted for this but I do want to point out the creator of Rick and Morty is a confirmed pedophile and made animators watch child porn as "reference" for many scenes. There's one episode in particular that apparently has the exact plot of one of these CP movies.

Nope. He made a really bad joke that was meant as a parody on “Dexter”. He apologized and realized it was over the line and not funny. As far as “made animators watch child porn”, I would think you’ve skewed reality here too. I’m pretty sure Adult Swim would run if any was remotely true.

Didn't have to scroll too far down the ol' facebook timeline to find InfoWars content, which speaks for itself.

Nothing really, but some actual links or sources with facts to back up your statement might help. I mean, you are the one that said "confirmed pedophile". Where is this confirmation?

I can't right now because I'm at work but have you ever seen/read about the pilot of Rick and Morty? The entire episode was about the kid having to suck the old guys dick for various rewards, including saving his life. Pedophilia was literally what the pilot episode was based on.

He also quit twitter over one of his baby-raping jokes got surfaced. It was something about an animation of a guy raping a baby doll.

The episode I'm talking about that has the plot of a CP film and where he forced animators to watch reference material is well documented and an aired episode. I don't watch the show so I don't know what it was called.

Yes I have

Quoted from cyberslunk:

Not really. It was a 5 minute sketch in bad humor and it wasnt animated it was him with a cabbage patch size doll and it was blurred out. Video is still online.

I've searched for this and cant find it. So how is it well documented?

At least with ACNC, I got to play a prototype before I plunked down my non refundable deposit.

The Earth is flat , also confirmed from multiple sources on the internet .

This thread got *weird*.

I've been ultra busy so barely hanging out on here, but I am still into pinball, perhaps more than before. My issue simply comes down to space.

My basement is absolutely full. I can't put anything else in without having to pull something out, and I really like everything I've got.

I have a storage area that is also absolutely full, and the games there aren't playable. This is insanity.

Right before I started selling them, a friend offered me a space to set up games in. The storage games will probably fill up this space entirely.

My problem is, I really, really like the games I own currently, including those in storage. I have *almost* ceased all game buying with the exception of a couple MGC specific things I'm looking for because I came to the conclusion that until I can set up and maintain what I have and have holes, it isn't worth me continuing to buy more machines. In the future, if it's awesome - and I expect it will be! - I hope some of the machines I finally decide I don't need I can trade toward a R&M

Anyone else getting pm from this guy trying to prove his point but all he has is links to online bloggers and tabloids trying to get ad revenue with bullshit articles?

Yup. Kinda disturbing. Maybe the moderators should have a talk with him. If it was just one of us I can see ignoring him, but pm-ing multiple people to try and prove a point is off.

He even wanted me to “spread the word” because he got kicked out of the thread.

I got his cut n paste message also telling me he couldn't find corroborating evidence so I'd just have to take his word for it.

Sorry, Cyberslunk but I don't know you and you've only been on Pinside for 3 weeks. You've got to earn trust around here and you're off to a very poor start.

#348 4 years ago

He got moderated and kick out of the thread for spewing his unproven rhetoric. Then he thumbed his nose at the moderators and pm’d a bunch of us to continue what he was moderated for.

#349 4 years ago

...because no one has actually seen the game in action.

#350 4 years ago

I am a player not a buyer. That is the Bottom line truth. I look forward to playing spooky for a long time to come. Decades.

But I will be watching others buy and playing thier games. I'm quite happy in this role.
