A Walmart story I've read some where, years ago.
An American television manufacturer wanted to sell tvs to W-Mart. They were told their price was to high. So the tv manufacturer closed the plant, moving production to Mexico. Can't remember the facts but 200 or 300 jobs were lost. The plant sat idle, Wal Mart bought the property, and opened a large store, the following year. The majority of the residents boycotted the store.
Not sure if this an urban myth or not. It could be believable.
