I thought LZLE was hideous (as others did) when the pictures first came out. I think it's stunning now, especially with the topper. The shooter rod still looks like ass, though.

It was awesome when it was released. People were just too busy bitching about having to tweak the TK lock and pay extra for the UV kit to notice the game was epic (both legit complaints, to be sure).

Oddly enough Maiden still screams Maiden even though it doesn't have a big band theme feature like the above, but it's the best band pin.
You're welcome to stop by and play my LZ. It might change your mind. That jumping Icarus couldn't possibly be reskinned into anything else.

It's easy to criticize games based on pictures alone but they really need to be seen in person and played to be given a fair shot. I'm going to try and remember that more going forward.
