I've never met anyone who had a dislike for the term Man Cave.

What the term "Man Cave" really implies is that it is the one room in the house where the man rules. It's not necessarily that women aren't welcome. It's just the place where the man gets to decorate it the way he see's fit without any interference from the women of the household. They have the rest of the house to decorate their way.
A man can have anything he wants in the man cave. Rock posters, beer signs, pictures of cars, bikini-clad babes, a leg lamp, etc. Basically the same kind of stuff he could have had before he got married.
A game room is not necessarily a man cave. If your wife or girlfriend has a say as to what goes into your "game room" then it isn't a man cave. It's a family room or game room. Not even close to being a man cave.
In a man cave the man rules.... period.
So all you girly-men who don't like the term "Man Cave" (or aren't allowed to have one) can go play pinball in your game rooms while us real men will hang out in our man caves (a lot of which just so happen to have some pinball machines in them too).
My man cave has all the stuff guys need. An awesome home theater/stereo system than can blow your face off. The kind with real big speakers that most women wouldn't allow in the rest of the house. It also has a bar and a kegerator. Both essential components of a real man cave. Then there are also a few pinball machines which are optional components of a man cave.
So all of you who hate the term "man cave" and think game rooms are man caves need to realize that your game rooms are not man caves unless the man rules them absolutely. Most are just game rooms and don't qualify as being real man caves.
man cave (Definition)
A room, space, corner or area of a dwelling that is specifically reserved for a male person away from the rest of the household in order to work, play, involve himself in certain hobbies, activities without interruption. This area is decorated by the male that uses it without interference from any female influence.
Usage: Tom retreated to the Man Cave to drink beer and play his pinball machine with his friends from the office.
