So Intel CEO Brian Krzanich sold 1/2 of all his stock in the company . He sold Intel stock 21 times this year, until he reached the lowest holding he can in his contract.

    Why?

Because he found out in June that billions of Intel chips are completely wide open to hacking.

    Intel says:

"Check with your operating system vendor or system manufacturer and apply any available updates as soon as they are available. Following good security practices that protect against malware in general will also help protect against possible exploitation until updates can be applied."

I wonder what kind of updates you can apply to a piece of silicon?.....

To completely resolve the problem, the chips themselves need to be replaced.

    -

Apple says all it's computers and iOS devices are also wide open

    -

AMD has announced that they are immune to the hacks.

Man... what a mess. Thanks for the heads up. It seems like companies are already doing their due diligence to stop any vulnerabilities before the bad guys can write up some malware.

Kinda scary to have such giant security issues that are completely invulnerable to antivirus software. What a time to be alive

Is the answer that he knew this was coming and wanted to bail? Of course he sold that stock to people without his insider knowledge and they will lose actual money.

Since he sold it on a schedule, it's not considered bad or fraud or insider trading.

AMD user here, my freckle just relaxed somewhat
Seriously though, everything can be hacked eventually, no system designed by man (or woman) can ever be hack proof.

As fast as they are able to fix or improve security the hackers will have found a new point of entry, simply an unending story.

I understand there is a possible problem but, why would you publically announce this nationwide, or at any level before you have a solution?????? Absolute stupidity. I mean if the problem has been there all a long and to date No Hackers have discovered it an attempted to breach, why not come up with a solution or at worst some temporary fix before you announce it and start a race to breech it??????? Next week maybe they'll call North Korea to let them know we'll be bombing them on Tuesday!

    Quoted from RWH:

It had leaked somehow. The hackers all knew and the public was going to find out one way or another.

They have been working on the issue since last spring. Most of the patches are in place.
