hello.
I have been looking at a nitro ground shaker and wondering who is the couple on the playfeild? Also are the cars specific to them or just made up by Bally?
Thanks.

Definitely not real cars. The one in the foreground is a loose approximation of a Chevy Vega funny car and seems to be heavily inspired by Jungle Jim Liberman's car. The one in the background is more stylized, has some Mopar influences but nothing specific.

No clue if the couple are based on real people. The artists had fun with this one, there are some subtle "R-rated" hijinks going on in the crowd.

That upper purple car is more reminiscent of a '70 Mustang.

I think the rear car is a '70 mustang not mopar....

I can see the 70s mustang influence. I'm impressed with everything going on including the obvious Texan race couple is completely original.
