I'm still on the fence with going. It's kind of a long haul for me just for one day only to most likely be outbid on the few items I'd want to get(only because I know the pins are either going to sell for too much or not at all). I'd be out just shy of $100 just for gas!

I'm mainly looking at the Rush2049(which no longer appears on their lot list for some reason), the Namco Quick and Crash, the Double Donkey Kong, a token changer, a Ms. Pac Man cocktail, and like everybody else, would be curious to see what all the pins go for. Especially since they've got a crapload of them this time, including 2 TAF's!

So how's about it? Who's going, who's buying, who's watching?

    #2 6 years ago

It does seem that they have a lot more pins this time around.

I'm completely overloaded and out of room and money though, so I won't be making the trip. Might check it out online though.

That's a real long haul for you!

    #3 6 years ago

I just would like to get that QnC so bad! I don't know when I'm ever going to see one for sale again in the future, let alone within driving distance.....

    #4 6 years ago

I was considering It but all the horror stories I have heard, including plants bidding the machines up, I believe it will just be a waste of time. Add the 18% surcharge + 9% CA Tax and you are better off NIB from out of state.

I will watch and probably lament the one that got away!

    #5 6 years ago

Miguel, I like the Marshall PIC.

    #6 6 years ago

The horror stories are usually associated with the pins(shill bidding, etc.). I'm more concerned with the vids I listed. If those go for cheap, I'll be pissed!

My avatar pic is from Spinal Tap. It goes to eleven...

    #7 6 years ago

    i shall be there!

    #8 6 years ago

If I were to bid online(only in the extreme case something goes for WAY too cheap), how long do they give you to go pick it up?

    #9 6 years ago

You thought I wasn't!!? At least I'll go down in the morning and test drive. It's cool cause they are all playable (at least the ones that work) from 9:00 AM till 11:00. If recent history is any indication then there won't be any steals to be had, but he's got more pins than ever before, so you never know. The TOM looks to be OK but somebody played tic tac toe on one side, so new decals are a must. The Addams looked OK with minor burn. Most of the 80s machines had pretty worn playfields. See you there!

    #10 6 years ago

O-din, did you sell your MM?????

    #11 6 years ago

A good amount of pins up for auction, have not seen that many at an auction in SoCal in years.
    http://www.bidspotter.com/forms/searchauction.php

I would be interested to find out how much the rare
    BLY Voltan goes for?!?!
Too bad it has bad PF wear.
The CAB does not look too bad, only some fade on the right side.
    BG looked very good.
If i was in country I would probably bid on it,
as mine has a broken Slingshot plastic and a badly faded CAB
and my Voltan BG has a little scrap in the upper left hand corner,
so I would probably swap out the best bits.
If not for the Significant PF wear, I bet it would probably go for $1000-1500 ,
But as is, probably $500-800, and only because it is rare and it is arguably
Dave Christensen's best artwork on a pin.
If someone has a NOS PF, then this would be the game to get.

    #12 6 years ago

can't wait to see the report on this auction

    #13 6 years ago

I'll be watching (and maybe even bidding on) this auction online today. Most of the pins are early and some already even have bids on them. Kinda makes me want to leave a couple bids on the vids I want.

    This should be interesting!

    #14 6 years ago
    Quoted from kwiKimart:

O-din, did you sell your MM?????

No, I turned it into a go-cart. Just got back from the captains. I count somewhere around 80 pins!
Oh boy, another Gladiators! This should be an interesting auction.

    #15 6 years ago

Well, I went to sign up to bid online and not only do they ask for all your credit card info(understandable), but they also want your driver's license number and how much you plan to spend in the auction! Ridiculous! Not even ebay requires that much personal info.

Looks like I'll be a spectator only, today.

    #16 6 years ago

Sounds like it would be fun to watch. Where can I see a list of games from that auction? Hopefully someone will post the auction prices.

JM just sold for 1,500...plus 18% and sales tax = meh

    #19 6 years ago

    $800.00 for a Williams Jokers...not bad I guess

    Monopoly just went for $3,000....geez

first good deal DE star trek $1350.00

    Voltan (blowing fuses) $1950.00

    #20 6 years ago

Same online buyer is buying up a few pins. I wonder if he's a Pinsider...

    #21 6 years ago

Come on folks JD is a 1400 machine

    #22 6 years ago

4K for TAF, looked nice, no magnet burn
2,400 for FH, plenty of wear spots on the PF

Not horrible prices, but no deals, that's for sure.

Either the Internet bidder is building a new collection, or he's the seller and is shill bidding and buying back his pins. I suspect the latter.

4k is actually around $4800 out the door. Nothing special for a TAG

    #24 6 years ago

With the 18% surcharge and 9% tax, that $4000 TAF is just under $5200.

    #25 6 years ago

    Is anyone there right now?

I would love to know the condition of the Cyclone. PM me !!!

    thanks!
    MOF

    #26 6 years ago

2450 for Lost World!! I am glad I am not in Cali.

    #27 6 years ago
    Quoted from mof:

    Is anyone there right now?

I just left. I bid $1400 on Judge Dredd, but I was outclassed.

    #28 6 years ago

And the 2nd TAF goes for...4,100. Ouch, after fees.

I love how the auctioneer says that you won't be seeing TAF's anymore pretty soon. Haha! The most produced pinball in history, but now they're "disappearing". You can't swing a dead cat in the pinball world without hitting about 10 for sale at all times.

What surprised me were the HS's going for about 700 each. That's not too bad.

    #29 6 years ago

Pins always seem way overpriced to me.

    #30 6 years ago

Very strange. Some lady just came up and started talking about a previous bid on something and it sounded like she was asking to back out of it. Well, it was the second TAF and they reopened it to bids and now it sold for 3,850.

Auctioneer said it was an Internet bidder that backed out, but I clearly heard the woman talking about it. Could've been a worker there, I guess.

    #31 6 years ago
    Quoted from Miguel351:

Yeah, the playfields were already sanded ready for resto!

    #32 6 years ago

I think that was Chris's wife.

    #33 6 years ago

Whoever buyer 218 is buying multiples today. Pinsider?

    #34 6 years ago

Could be a consigner "buying" his pins back because he doesn't want to sell them so cheap. Same as Internet bidder 5129, he was high bidder on a lot of them.

    #35 6 years ago

fuuny, that's why I wait till the end when nobody's left and I get the arcades for cheap to restore.

    #36 6 years ago

    No thanks!

    #42 6 years ago

Well, that sucks gonads. The ONE game I wanted the most, the ONE GAME, Quick and Crash, went for $50. Yup, fifty bucks. I was ready to pay up to $200 for it if I had gone! I don't think anyone on KLOV will sell me theirs for $50!

    Aarrrgggghhh!

I don't even want to know what the other vids I want are going to go for!

Gladiators was a good deal! I played it. That shaker can wake the dead!

    #45 6 years ago

I thought it was 18% out of state, 15% plus cali tax for instate residents

    #46 6 years ago

    18% online, 15% in person

    #47 6 years ago
    Quoted from Miguel351:

I wonder how many people bolted after all the pins were done.

I left before lol (after Theater of Magic)

    #48 6 years ago

Those prices are absolutely insane. It's something like 27% on top of those fees, I think it was 18% to the auction house and 9% tax.

Just absolutely crazy. Most of those games were at or pretty close to retail, and a bunch of them looked junky as hell.

    #49 6 years ago

I might have considered it a wasted day, but I got to play all those machines and didn't drop one quarter.

    #50 6 years ago

I left after six games! I just went for a laugh. The consigners-buyback stuff sure knocks the fun out of it...I haven't gotten a good deal at Cap's in three+ years.
