Nice!

If this is a hit then maybe PPS can remake Wonderland.

Quoted from GUMBO:

definately needs bouncing melons to and 'fro in the DMD at some point.

Uhhhhh........

Quoted from Quiddity:

Illuminated mechanical score reels

The return of “The Knocker”

Heck, I'll be selling my TronLE for this one.

Quoted from flashinstinct:

what will they do next....

Quoted from Quiddity:

Two old-time pinball bells and a real cow bell

#43 9 years ago
Quoted from splitskull:

it's an EM, right?

Basically. But with solid state boards to replace relays and such I believe.

#46 9 years ago
Quoted from RobT:

A "digital soundtrack"?

Ouch!

#51 9 years ago
Quoted from Frax:

Sounds like background music to me. Why would you do digital sounds effects on an EM-ish machine that's got two bells and a cowbell. I mean, it sounds to me like you'd just settle for MORE COWBELL, RIGHT?

+1. As with most solid state machines, you can always turn the sound OFF!

#59 9 years ago
Quoted from GUMBO:

Can't be that hard to design oldish looking EM score reels that are computer controlled.

It's already been done! Electrically, switches and solenoids are all it needs.

Quoted from jrivelli:

All those EM guys out there, you gonna drop even 3k on an EM style game?

I have seen EMs go for way more than that. Sure it won't be an older original EM, but it will appeal way more to me than any of the one and done themes of late.

Screw em! I can't wait to see Whoa Nellies everywhere!

Is the show All In The Family racist to you?

I can see the world would be in an uproar if they tried to make this today.

Quoted from Kugelhagelfisch:

Yeah, you couldn't just have the backglass telling people to "Play skill games for fun and recreation.".

Or one that says "Total Flags"

#168 9 years ago
Quoted from Plungemaster:

Can it satisfy current pinballplayers?

Not for me this one.

Different strokes for different folks.

#179 9 years ago
Quoted from swampfire:

Not unless it's a remake of a Gordon Morison / Ed Krynski classic.

I wouldn't pay over a grand for any Morrison EM. Not my cup of tea. Now Roy Parker or George Molentin, that's another story.

Quoted from swampfire:

Pfft, whatever freak.

I still have one. He does paint such happy men.

Quoted from swampfire:

But he did some nice women too (my favorite GTB at the moment):

The clown has a better looking face than most of those women. I just never got into that whole goofy look thing he did.

I prefer something with a little more style and class.

Quoted from Goronic:

Well...after Stern announces mods yesterday, and Big Juicy Melons remake today I feel I have a good shot at getting a TRON Premium now

I wouldn't hold my breath on that. Word has it the next Stern vault edition is going to be
Stampede.

Hey Pin-it, I'm guessing you're in on some melons, eh?

#326 9 years ago

Did I read somewhere that this machine has a gobble hole? I have been waiting for those to make a comeback.

#328 9 years ago

Woo hoo! I recently acquired a couple of games with gobble holes (Flipper, Slick Chick), and I must say I love those little buggers.
