Quoted from jfesler:

Anyone else remember?

Let me consult the TPF scroll of 2015...

Quoted from jiffy:

Yeah, the wood around the main cabinet looks very unfinished.

I too was hoping for the production machines to have the same fit and sexy deep finish as the prototypes from TPF but unfortunately, it is not the case.
The BB specifically had a couple of torn/rough edges to it, almost like they forgot to swap in a fresh blade before starting the project.
Don't get me wrong though, the game is still fun to play and I finally got to hear a majority of the sounds/music/DJ which was actually quite entertaining for the few hours I was able to play it.
(General Lee horn was a nice touch guys!)

So with that being said...
I'm all for customizing machines to further improve gameplay but, having to run down to the hardware store to pick up some various grit sandpaper and a fresh pint of Old Masters tung oil, shouldn't be part of the WNBJM NIB buying "experience."

Or is it?

Okay, petty Pinside woodworking gripe aside, I'm still 100% buying one simply because the gameplay and design alone makes this a worthy purchase and the extra bit of work I'll have to do to match the proto I fell in love with won't take too much time and effort in the grand scheme of things, really.
Dennis and Greg are just awesome/amazing people and I will support their future "EM-ish" collaborations as well so, I guess just keep on making fun and unique games guys!
Maybe something with a spinner and multiple drops next time?

This is an example of the detail work I fell in love with oldskool...

No biggie that they decided to go a different route on finish. Mine will just be a bit more custom than the rest. Hell I might just have to make a belly bar for it!

You should have a Big Daddy wall of Fame ... Shall I bring a 8x4 photo when I come next time?

That's a good idea RD!
But, you might need an 11X14 once you finish eating all that Chicago goodness!
