$6,500?! (or $8,300 Canadian?!)

Ouch. Just... Ouch.

Quoted from luvthatapex2:

I keep hearing about nothing but the price on this game, so let me play devils advocate I really wish people would talk about the game instead of repeat the last 40 people that said it cost too much.
This is an original game (found no where else) done by a great designer and great artist.
This is a limited run complete with custom crate, etc. It is unlike any pinball ever created.
It's running a new pinball control system.
(Remember, someone had to pay for the new parts to make this game and you lose all discounts for a low production so you have to have a higher price to recoup costs.)
It is more of a conversation piece, a nostalgia invoking item of days gone by. A 'futuristic EM'.
It is a hybrid game, not a digital game and not an em - its both. It can't be compared strictly with its EM counterpart, nor can it be compared with sam, spike or the pin.
It is not meant to be mainstream.
It is not meant to be comparable to a PRO, LE, Premium. This is more of a custom game.
I am curious how it plays, how the new control system runs and how the game sounds. I assume its all LED lighting?
I applaud Whizbang for creating something truly original and getting Stern to produce it.

While your points are valid, the trouble I have with the (insane) valuation is that Stern is not a boutique pinball manufacturer. I could see a small operation charging this kind of premium because of the large overhead involved in running a small, limited, run of boutique games, but Stern?

Maybe I'm just shell-shocked by the price and not thinking rationally but this really does seem absurd.
