Quoted from Mar:

Has anyone put a protector on the gobble hole at all? If so, what and where did you get it? I'm just looking at mine and noticing that's the spot that's getting some wear, but I don't know if there's anything out there that can do anything about it...

Yes. That spot wears quickly where the ball pops up. PBL had those florescent plastic protectors.
My Gobble hole plastic had started to show a wear spot. The plastic protector worked great to stop it.

Quoted from oldskool1969:

Not only did 2 of these amazing machines make it to the most remote capital city in the world, 2 signed standees also come along for the ride. MELONS

I still kick myself for not buying the standees when they were forever on Pinball Life. What the F was I waiting for...

#130 6 years ago
Quoted from oldskool1969:

Ask Stern, they may have a couple in their shop?

It's worth a try! I even asked Dennis a while back but no luck....

Did you ever clock her or beat the 3rd mode? Hope you got a good price for it.

Has anyone honestly beaten the third mode?

Quoted from CostenM:

Hi All,
I'm new to Pinside and I also own the Whoa Nellie machine. It's awesome! My question is how do I get the knocker sound working?
... Any ideas?

Win a free game? (:

Finally convinced Melony to come over and play a few games.
(thank you Pinball Life!)

Anyone interested in a watermelon shooter like the one above? I have an extra from back in '15.

#147 6 years ago
Quoted from Phatchit:

Looks like I'm joining the club !!! Hopefully everything works out this week . This is the one pinball my wife fell in love with the look and design , so I'm buying it for her anniversary present . Already picked up the watermelon rod , nownwhat else is a must do ?

- Update to the latest software.
- Get the fluorescent plastic protector set. Save your gobble hole plastic from getting nicked up.

#150 6 years ago

As Oldskool mentioned. Windows format the USB. (I never could get Mac to work with it).
Follow the readme file on updating. It should work.

#152 6 years ago

Game code update I got to work, DMD update I could not.

#158 6 years ago

Please share it if you come up with an idea. I've always thought that it should have been lit also.

Quoted from oldskool1969:

This game after the years I have owned it still surprises me with call outs and fun.

Like the Pfffffttttt! "Was that my wife?"

or..

Mine is the typical mix also. At first I wondered WTF... Now I kinda like it. Resembles a mixed bunch of wood. One the crate, one the cabinet, the other the backbox.

Favorite quote so far..

“Did you eat a bowl of stupid for breakfast or what?”

#196 5 years ago
Quoted from rennervision:

So the machine could be trying to make me think I'm crazy, but is there some kind of logic on what the reward is for the skillshot?

I have mine set to "Sweet" and yes, it usually awards me an upper lane rollover for hitting the skill shot.
I think I deserve it! (:

#197 5 years ago

I hope the quote I just heard was: "Your bucket keeps leaking water!"

But is sure sounded like: "Your butt keeps leaking water!"

Another new one.

#202 5 years ago
Quoted from Joey_N:

Sheeesh.
Well, Bryan if you ever come up with a reasonable way and want to ship, please LMk. Thanks!

Folded up, fits in a nice big flat cardboard box.
Like a nice Bryan Kelly playfield restoration box. Just sayin...

Just lookin' around to see who still had WNBJM machines still for sale.
Spotted it on Marco for $9999.00!
https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/500-55D7-01

Is it finally catching on how much fun this game is?? (:

#210 5 years ago
Quoted from OLDPINGUY:

3 years now, and the game I turn on most for 15 minutes of Smiles and Fun!
The callouts and music never get old, and the goals are challenging enough to keep me busy!

I may just have to get up out of bed and go play a game.

#212 5 years ago

Be a little slow startin' the game...
"When's the party start?"

#216 5 years ago
Quoted from IdahoRealtor:

Marco claims they are the only one with NIB left, but I doubt they'll be cheap.

Marco is great to deal with for shipping games. Not the cheapest but honest in what they have. I bought my second NIB LOTR from them way after they were out of stock most everywhere else.

#220 5 years ago

I only got a half melon. But it's definitely not sticky. (:

Nellie (resized).jpgNellie (resized).jpg

#224 5 years ago
Quoted from rennervision:

My advice to anyone shipping this pin with a watermelon shooter - wrap the knob in a plastic bag to protect it.

I think you should just go ahead and say to "put a rubber on the shooter". Would be game appropriate.

#233 5 years ago

That deep voice heard sometimes at the start is creepy yet inviting... It's the conundrum of Whoa Nellie..

"Com'on in.."

#234 5 years ago

I always wanted to see how it was to turn over the score. Just not this way..

#238 5 years ago

Is there any correlation to the serial number range and machines sold?

Post your serial number!

IMG_3403 (resized).jpegIMG_3403 (resized).jpeg

#240 5 years ago

It should have the beer cans for the crate to simulate sitting on them.
I got the single uncrushed beer can when I received a Nellie crate parts upgrade back with the early productions. I don't if that one is a standard inclusion or not.

#242 5 years ago
Quoted from oldskool1969:

Oh my god, the paper is ripped and the screws chewed the wood WARRANTY!

I'd call Stern support and have them rectify those issues. (:

#248 5 years ago
Quoted from J85M:

Pinballlife is my go to supplier for parts

Sadly Pinballlife no longer has their Whizbang store. ...

#250 5 years ago
Quoted from PinsideMike:

Just got off the phone with Chas at Stern. They are raiding the warehouse looking for any WNBJM swag hidden away still.

Sweet. So you’re keeping it. Good move! (:

#253 5 years ago
Quoted from rennervision:

So my question now is, should I quit while I'm ahead?

What if you just took some fine steel wool or similar, give it a nice scrubbing and put on a couple quality clear coats?

#260 5 years ago

I would keep it easy.

Did the gobble hole loose the rounded border and show more of the square center?

[quoted image]

I'm sorry, I was playin' a game, or 12.

#327 5 years ago

I’d pay for a print!

#336 5 years ago

Received mine. Thanks!

I'm assuming these are matted and framed?

Thanks to everyone who helped get'r done.

#342 5 years ago
Quoted from SuperDaveOsbourn:

Someone needs to take the commitment to pick up the field of Korn prints and deliver to the signature series folks, and then ship from there. Eliminates the 2000-3000 dollars of overhead, and makes the signatures not just verified (with photos and video), but actually real yet viable. 125 for a large print is gouging.

That would sure be sweet!

#369 5 years ago
Quoted from SuperDaveOsbourn:

What blows my mind, and I'm easy to blow apparently, is a pinball playfield artwork package and some 'stuff' was auctioned off for 14000 dollars, 13K and 1K bonus by someone. Amazing.

That just "Dills My Pickle"!

Quoted from luch:

anyone worried about using the box without the legs ? just seems the box is made like an Ikea cheap piece of furniture

Way better than the legs and it has been rock solid sturdy.
My only complaint is that on carpet, it is so sturdy it makes it hard to nudge the ball. I nearly have to do a death save to get the box to move.

#520 2 years ago

It is locked. The 2 latches you found for the lock bar.. you got a couple more for the playfield.
Take a peek inside the coin door.

I have no recall of PITA boards under the head.

3 months later
#528 2 years ago
Quoted from D-Gottlieb:

Just joined the club with a NIB being delivered next Thursday! I always liked this one and missed out when they were still being manufactured. I found a distro that had one and he made me a pretty good deal.

Most fun on a crate ever. ... Melons!

#531 2 years ago
Quoted from Kenz:

The playfield layout looks straightforward however it has a lot of risk/reward. It will catch out good players!

It will humble the best of players.
On the crate, machine manipulation is nearly impossible.

#536 2 years ago
Quoted from prl867:

Whoa Nellie has been a pain in my ass for a while now..

When did all this start? Random on a startup? Was it after a code update?
Consider reseating connectors? I have fixed a few that way.

2 weeks later
#548 2 years ago
Quoted from D-Gottlieb:

Just check your diagnostics for tech alerts and see if there are any. Someone else responded that they are not important, I agree, but I just want to see if others have them as well. I would be surprised if I am the only one that does.

Yeah, I got a bunch of 'em looks like. I never bothered to look before though. Game plays great.

Quoted from Ilushka85:

Some of my graphics scratched off the translite. Is it possible to get a replacement ? Also any ideas where to get the watermelon shooter ?

Like they say.. "usta' could".
Pinball Life used to have the translite I believe, but that was a while ago.
Same with the watermelon shooter. A good one was made early on by someone here on Pinside. Some not so good knock offs after that.

Posting a 'wanted' on the main forum might score you one.
