Didn't care much for the original Magnum at all, but it seemed like women liked it. It was like they were trying to combine Mannix and Hawaii 5-0, but like most prime time in the 80s, it had no edge to it and came up short.
That being said, I flipped by it, saw him driving the car, and quickly found something better, newer, and more original to watch.

That being said, I'll admit I didn't care much for the new MacGyver when it first came out, but now I watch it fairly regularly. They have had guest appearances from the actors that played both the original Dalton and Murdoc and they don't hesitate to actually kill people.
A guest appearance from Richard Dean Anderson would really put this one over the top.

New MacGyver at least doesn't over fuse the situation and catch your shit on fire. And new Magnum isn't some grumpy old dude. Plus Higgins is way hotter.
