Finally started on mine. This is gonna be fun![quoted image][quoted image]

good luck... a couple of notes, mount the new lightboard on the front, glue and nail. And then drill the hinge holes from the back to ensure to get them aligned... They mostly line up with the countersinks Wade provided but one or 2 are off slightly.

And after the new holes drilled, old ones plugged, rewired etc. I like to paint the front with a kilz primer

Literally under the watchful eye of the Terminator.

Good luck.

Some thoughts from doing 10 pf swaps so far

1. I drill out the lane guide holes, clear out the clear etc before hammering home the guides. And the flush gudes behind the flippers, leave those up a little, they will chip the clear (did it). And try not to tighten down the posts otherwise you can lift the clear.

2. Another item I noticed the screws for the kicker contacts are a little long, saw some dimples in the surface (ouch). I just added 3 more plates to each kicker contact to space it out.

3. Also the pop bumper base doesnt quite line up with the ring holes, I used the base as a template to slightly enlarge, elongate the holes with my drill. And you need to dremel the center of the pop hole with the dremel drum sanding bit to enlarge/remove clear.

4. I add a support post at the backside of the upper left drop target plastic. There was a nail on TeamOne, Wade didnt give us a predrill. I just added a plastic post with a screw and washers to support plastic.

5. Anybody using titan rubber, use a 3 3/5 rubber fror behind the drops. I had a 3 inch and its too loose.

Did you mean 2 3/4?

Thanks for the extra tips. I'll refer to them when I do the playfield swap this winter.

Yes actually

Almost looks like a factory... 4 Wizards, 1 Abra. 2 Wizards get dropped off at Expo in a couple of weeks. #10 currently being assembled. Four more TeamOnes on hand to build into Wizards, need 2 more.

I imagine some of these tips would apply to any Wade playfield swap, correct?

Yes, especially if they get it cleared

Love playing Wizard at Wizard's World in Ft. Wayne. Such a fun machine and the quality is top notch!

Thanks for the kind words.

Currently building #11 to go to Denver... Have TeamOnes for 12, 13, 14. Need two more to finish off the build. Total of 16 complete games and 12 DIY kits (already shipped).

I conldnt be more pleased with the pinball community support for this project!

Once these 6 are done (April?) I'll be building more Evel Knievel EMs (from NightRiders)

What an awesome project! I’m so excited for mine. Can’t wait to play the crap out of it.

#113 1 year ago

Ok #11 is done, #12 in progress, anticipate 1 per month in this busy season and cold temps.

Found another TeamOne in Nashville (#15), and Nic S delivered it. Found yet another TO in CT but one of my kit buyers needed it, let him have it. So still need one more TeamOne by April (I expect I can find it).

My last buyer is on the fence, I actually restored a TeamOne for him. If anybody want to get on the waiting list for the last Wizard reach out.

AND... there is a possibility to have Wade do a limited qty 10 rerun of this tittle. I dont have any doubt about finding the TeamOnes (at one a month) to complete these but I'd like to have a couple commits for games before I give Wade the go ahead.

Any takers? Asking for $500 deposits.

Here's Wizard #12 completed, just a little tuning left. serial 8025. Time to get going on #13

Wiz #13 complete and sent to Regina Saskatchewan, Wiz #14 base painted Sunday, another fine webbing if I do say so myself. This wiz will be put into a shallow Abra cab, lots of modifications etc. I should have it at TPF in about a month for some flagellant self promotion.

I still need ONE MORE TeamOne to build #16, the last and final Wizard, bounty paid if somebody finds me one.

And here is completed Wiz #14, serial 8012 (an early buy but a deferred delivery). Wiz #16 I build will be serial 8028, sold 12 kits, each with their own serial number stencil.

A couple extra pics showing how I adapted it into a shallow cab and different door. Actually the harness lends itself to the older doors, biggest hack was pulling out the lighting leads to terminate on the wall of the cab. Unfortunately the coin slot is non-functional, the pf does not have the early 70s cutout for the older style chute. I needed to take my router to a couple of pfs but its a real pain.

And the TeamOne sacrificed for this Wiz was actually a sample game with hand written relay labels. I had Peter Kosh do a cleanup on these to reproduce/reuse. Certainly a lot more readable.

And here is Wizard build #15 serial 08027 complete, just a little fine tuning left. 12 kits, 15 builds, one left to build but... I need to find the last TeamOne doner game.

I'd love to see some pics on the kit builders here.

Next up 3 Night Rider to EK EM conversions...

My Wizard conversion got finished in time for Pintastic. I was able to get a Gottlieb play count meter installed so I could see how many plays it got during the show. Final count was 497 which is pretty good.

An extra bit of bling I added was 3 additional lamp sockets behind the "Wizard" logo area. There was plenty of room to add those as that area of the light board is under the ball count unit.

For the 3 new sockets I wired them to the game over lamp. I used blinker bulbs in them so when the game is done and in attract mode the Wizard logo blinks.

During game play the 3 blinkers are off and the Wizard logo is lit by the 3 other sockets with regular bulbs in them.

Go to the 25 minute mark in Todd Tuckeys TNT amusements Pintastic 2023 walk through part 2. You can see the blinking lights as he approaches the game. Todd plays most of a game but gets distracted by WPT.

Thanks for bringing that game to the show and sharing it in the free play room. After following this thread from early on, it was awesome to be able to see the game and play it. You all did a great job creating and implementing it as a conversion.
