    This would be the time.
There always seems to be chatter about a Possible RUSH music pin and the vast possibilities with all their large following, 40 yrs of music and artwork and characters that can be used.
I also suggested on another thread as an idea
To have Neil pearts spinning drum kit top center
Of the playfield with a drum solo multi ball !!
    Anyone else?

    #2 4 years ago

in a minute! biggest band to ever come out of Canada. Would love to see Jersey jack make this instead of gnr.

    #3 4 years ago

    After Led Zepp of course!

    #4 4 years ago

I'd buy an LE in a heartbeat.....and if it does or doesn't happen, I will be using CPR Re-theme shop to make a RUSH pin as well....

No more band pins, and if we have to have more band pins, Rush doesn't make the cut. I just can't imagine a good theme integration... it would just be artwork on a random playfield.

    #6 4 years ago

    "San Francisco Rush"? I'm in!

All further band pins should be re-themes of Rolling Stones.

    RIP Cornelius

Sometimes, Pinside works in mysterious ways. Sometimes, it just works.

    Sure, why not.

Just like most of the other music pins, 30-40 years too late.

    #10 4 years ago

Nah, I'm good. But I hope someone makes your pin some day.

If Mick was "Mick on a stick" would Geddy be "Pretentious prick on a stick"?

    #12 4 years ago

Yes! would be in for a NIB LE!

    #13 4 years ago

    Too soon.

They should probably wait until all the members of the band have passed away.

    #14 4 years ago

    Nope

    #15 4 years ago

Base it on the Whoa Nellie platform.

    #16 4 years ago

i think it would be a good rock theme game. there is certainly enough album stuff for art and music there with limelight, the dog and hydrate, 2112, tom sawyer, etc.

Clockwork Angels, their final album (2010), is one of their best. It was even named best rock album of the entire decade by one website (Louder Sound)!

Then 10 years too late is better late than never?

    #19 4 years ago

As I posted in the (three? four?) other "Should there be a Rush pin?!" thread: "HELL YES". As long as it's not a Seawitch retheme. I mean sure that game is great, but... I expect something more along the lines of JP2. Pretty sure it would be a "Greatest hits pin" a la Met / ACDC. But that's fine. There's pinball browser so I can remove Limelight and Closer to the Heart and add By-tor and Cygnus X-1.

    #20 4 years ago

one is happening in my basement.

    #21 4 years ago

Really thinking about retheming a Baywatch into a Rush pin.

    #22 4 years ago

It would be my grail pin.
Any pin I have would be on the block if I need the space or the $$$$ for it.
I would be a basket case worrying it would not come out to my expectations.

It would have to be original and not too similar to any other machine. It would also need to be respectful; Geddy, Alex, Neil’s family and the Rush family would need to be proud of it.

It would need subways and magnets and toys that are not cheap. It would need Drop Targets (probably in-line) and Spinners.
It would need to be fast, but not always or just fast.

It would need to be playable and liked by non-Rush fans (maybe I will take this one back). Of course the manufacturer would want this.

It would need to have more than just 10-15 songs; it would need to go deep with songs at certain modes and the farther you progress the deeper it would go. Maybe even work it’s way backwards in time like R40 (with some popular stuff intertwined)

It would need to pay tribute.

Besides the music I would want some of their story and humor to be tied in. It shouldn’t be all music, there should be some self deprecating humor and tie in to the cult fan base.

Ton’s of material could be used; I Love You Man, Frank Constanza, All the material from the shows (in fact their tour production team would need to work on it), South Park, etc etc etc .

My only caveat here; We have to mourn first....I know there is no machine coming out. But it there was I would not run out and buy it right now. That just doesn’t feel right.
When the time is right the machine should come out....and many will buy it.

    #23 4 years ago

Canadian-subthemed of course. Although the Canadian references should be unobtrusive.

    #24 4 years ago

    There’s a line dude

    Clockwork was released 2012

    R40 tour ended 2015

It’s really not that long ago!

    #26 4 years ago

I'd be down for a Rush pinball.

I’m incredibly huge Zep fan but, seriously it been how long? 1982?
I’d like one also but, still guarantee Rush would be biggest selling music pin of all time .
    Once again if done correctly.
I read somewhere that stern has the rights and one of the stern guys is a huge Rush fan.

    #28 4 years ago

Yeah, 2012, forgot to run that post by my fact checker.

Never realized, that was exactly 100 years before 2112!

That’s only because of their dysfunction as a group. Plant is the only thing holding them back from touring and they should do one more run, their music is timeless.

That concert in 2007(!!) was astonishingly good. I watch that video every so often. It is incredible

I would be in for an LE from day 1 and it would never leave. Instant grail status from Day 1...

Yes it was and really hope they hit the road one more time.

    #34 4 years ago

Charlie and Bug are both drummers and Rush fans.
Why not follow an instant sell out with a 500 run nother one? They do have the best sound system in pinball....

    #35 4 years ago

Sabbath first come on those guys were rocking it hard core for just under 50 years. Would not say no to a rush pin though.

    #36 4 years ago

Would love it but in the meantime my Metallica Premium plays all Rush songs from ‘74-80

Obviously there is no need to rush.

Well.... not the only thing. John Bonham may be a tough one to get to tour...

I have seen Rush over 20 times. I am a Superfan since age 10. That being said, I don’t think a Rush pinball would be all that great (For myself). There isn’t a single music pin that cracks the top 50 for me. While they do a good job of playing the artists music, they all feel sort of soulless to me.

    #40 4 years ago

    Yes please!!

I know you were joking, but Jason Bonham has said numerous times he is 1000% in. He is the only person on the Planet that could fill those huge shoes

And just think if there was a storyline - 2112 Syrinx mode; find the guitar mode; fight the Solar Federation mode!

Grail pin for me. I bought a virtual machine largely based on the fact it had a Rush game on it.

agreed.... he sounds a lot like his dad... it’s crazy. He has great playing chops.

Help me change my mind on Rush; this is a band I have never quite got.

Maybe it’s prog rock or the lyrics, or a relative lack of success in Australia. But the reverence in which Neil Peart was held among the world’s drumming fraternity suggests to me I need to do some exploring. And I love Canadian bands - The Tragically Hip and New Pornographers are among my all time favourites.

Any suggestions? As a starting point I’m certainly more into classic rock or 80s synth than prog rock

Give the Signals album a listen. It is one of the first ones to start to really integrate synths into their sound.

Check out the "Power Windows" album. LOTS of great stuff on there. Most of the revered songs are from earlier than that, but that album is great. The predecessor, "Grace Under Pressure" is a masterpiece, and my favorite. Many Rush fans don't like it because of the synths, but it's a great document of the era. Every album has something to appreciate.
