thank you lucky1 for the information,
here are two pictures of the connection
concerning the files, I conceal the activation key with the original name and the color file, the other two files I delete them (pin2dmd.dat and update.ok).

Could you remove the Nucleo board and make a picture of shield under it and maybe a picture of the ribbon cable from the mpu
to the dmd controller

#303 5 years ago

here are the photos .
for files, I keep in the micro SD activation key with the original name and the color file?
the other two files I delete them (pin2dmd.dat and update.ok)?
Is the ribbon cable on the shield connected correctly?

the original dmd worked very well,
I simply disconnected the ribbon cable from the old plasma DMD to put on the shield of the nucleo.
I will test tomorrow, by removing the files from the SD card, as cited above
no danger if I reverse ribbon cable of the shield?

#305 5 years ago

The shield you have is for virtual pinball. It is missing some parts for real pinball usage.
No wonder that it is not working with LS123 missing in the lower socket of the pcb.

thank you lucky1for your help,
I got a 74ls123 on a V3 shield,
do I miss something else?
I had new info about the shield V4, there would be a strappe to do on shield,
here is a picture of my shield and another one of the modification to make
the little red line(inside the yellow circle)is the missing connection
can you confirm if I have to do it?

Moved my baywatch to make room for another pin and now my dmd is not working . One of my ground straps had broke off and may have touched the power supply for the dmd. Can anyone confirm if the green led on the dmd power supply ever turns on or flashes? Or can you measure the volts your getting on terminals? Thanks.

Should be constantly on. I think blinking means overload / short circuit. Try it without the panel attached and see wether it is still blinking.

#319 5 years ago

It's not blinking either. No activity. My lines are all attached by the transformer as well I tripped checked. The game plays fine just no dmd. Do you think a ground strap touching the power supply would fry it? Do you think it could have fried anything elts? What should readings be at power supply lugs (top to bottom?) What is a suitable replacement? Thanks for your help.

#320 5 years ago

Im getting 0.038V on my -V line and
0.130v on my + V line . L &N have no readings.

#321 5 years ago
Quoted from V_piscopo:

If L and N have no readings, the power supply is not getting any 120VAC power. Check from that back to the tie in and see if you get 120v somewhere.

#322 5 years ago

Ok. When going to disconnect L & N lines to read voltages I realized one was not seated correctly and not making proper contact. The male tab and come forward and was not sliding into the female tab but rather to one way of the female port. I bent it to the middle and reinstalled. The dmd now works and light to dmd power supply is constantly on. Although there is a line out down the middle of the dmd. I have posted a video. Any thoughts or ideas to fix this. I will reset it when I get home from work but any other ideas are welcome. Thanks.

What the heck!? I ordered a large Color DMD in September and have not received the part.

Hello Henry,

Your payment was received and we will arrange shipment shortly.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen/Kind regards,

I contacted Dominik and got the following reply:

Hello Henry,

I’ll check your order and come back to you shorty.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen/Kind regards,

Crickets after that first response. I have sent multiple emails, called the phone numbers and still no response. I have a project waiting on the part and I am frustrated and cranky.

#324 5 years ago

I heard from German Gaming today. No valid shipping number so I asked them for the DHL number. Hopefully, the part is forthcoming...

#325 5 years ago

It takes up to 48 hours till the tracking number is valid.
...as written in the shipping mail

#326 5 years ago

I was about to weigh in this morning and I'm glad I didn't. I placed my order in early Aug, experienced very poor communication until late Sept. But I I got a tracking number Sept 25 saying it was being processed... cryptic...

But... tonight, Frickin' FINALLY, tracking says it's in NY! Whew. So, maybe you are right behind me

My tracking number is now invalid and no part. Vader77 did you ever get the part?

#328 5 years ago

#329 5 years ago

I did get my order. I had to threaten a PayPal refund and he finally replied/sent on the last day. Very frustrating

#330 5 years ago

Vader77 good to hear. I guess a PayPal refund is my only recourse.

pinside really need to close this store before many others get burned, its a borderline scam now.

Does not matter how good the intentions of the op are, if you are unable to build / ship the product DONT SELL IT.

#332 5 years ago

I'm figuring things out, pms and notifications as well as parcels are already on the way!

russdx you ain't a customer so you have no clue how much things get shipped and what percentage these cases are.
I don't want to talk them small, it's just a fact that unsatisfied customers post way more often than satisfied ones.
If you'd had a closer look you might have noticed that the shop here on pinside IS already in "vacation mode" meaning no orders are possible at the moment

@ all others involved: I totally understand your anger and apologize for your missing shipments.

Kind regards,
Dom

out of the hundreds of vendors on this forum its only your products people create angry threads about

It seems like such a great product. It really fills a need for large DMD game owners. I hope they get their business straightened out.

I have been waiting for mine since September and here we are at the end of November.

I installed my Pin2DMD-XL in my MSF about 1.5 years ago. In the past 8 months I’ve started having problems. The display would reset and show the Frankenstein title screen in the middle of a game, but then start showing animations again. So for the longest time, I didn’t worry too much. But recently, more often, the display would go dark and not come back. I could get the display to come back by disconnecting/reconnecting power to the controller board (not the external power). Now, most times when I power on the machine, the DMD stays on the title screen. I have to take off the backglass, disconnect/reconnect power to the controller board.

Has anybody else experienced this, or anything similar?

Sounds like you could have a issue with your power supply or your Sega DMD Controller. How do you power the panel?
I had the same in my Batman Forever and needed to swap the Sega DMD Controller in the end. Maybe also this helps
http://arcarc.xmission.com/Pinball/Stern%20Service%20Bulletins/sb/sb106.pdf
You can see that it is most likely not a issue with pin2dmd by the fact that it is showing the Frankenstein Title Screen which means
that the pinball electronics is resetting.

Thanks for the help.

The Bulletin talks about how sensitive the DMD controller is to 5v. My machine was either a late manufacture, or somebody applied the bulletin to my machine before I got it. I measure the 5v and it was 5.01v. So it was fine.

The DMD is working fine now. I think it was literally a matter of reseating the connector at the power supply.
