going to replace the cabinet decals on my Data East Star Wars. I have heard there may be some manufacturers who use a different backing that reduces air bubbles. Who do you guys recommend?

Retro Refurbs is good also. I’ve gotten from both.
underlord did you notice any significant difference between the two. the retro refurbs talks about having a thinner lining so you can see the grain underneath and also talks about having a grey background to prevent bleeding of the paint underneath?

Pinball Decals are heavier by a bit. Backing does look a bit less stock. I haven't installed either yet as the JD and DM both need new cabs.

You must really like stallone!

I got the alternate JD cab decals, a lot more like comics.
Actually, I love the Williams Super Pins. Hoping to get all of them.
Have you applied these decals yet? I am considering buying some but was not sure if the quality is good enough.

No, not yet. But I’ve installed oem decals and Repro decals. These are just signs at the end of the day and visually are identical. Hey, if they’re not being remade ya gotta get from somewhere.
For both https://pinballdecals.eu/ and retro refurbs, is the finish on these vinyl-based decals glossy? https://pinballdecals.eu/ notes that they do have a high-gloss finish and I've seen a restored TAF with them. Is the same true for retro refurbs?
Isn't high-gloss finish is going to be different than the original finish? Is there a reason these repros come out high-gloss? I'm guessing it is a laminate layer to protect and enhance the digital print but I have not expertise in this area. Not saying it is worse, the art quality and overall look may be better than original, but it is not the original finish most are used to.
I've used PhoenixArcade screen-printed pinball decals in the past and those were virtually identical to original. But he doesn't do pin artwork anymore.
