Very nice! I can’t wait to get my hands on some of those again. So tasty but so hard to get unless you want to spend a lot of money! Any Belgians on here willing to get on the waiting list for me?

#1786 5 years ago
Quoted from meSz:

Waiting list? My daughter walked into a Belgium establishment and just bought it for me.

That’s awesome! I’ll have to seek out if there’s a place like that around Chicago. Unless they changed something, you can only buy the beer from the monastery itself as they don’t distribute anywhere. And there’s a waiting list to even purchase it, with a case (24 bottle) limit per group at their appointment time. Apparently the wait is months. Plus the monastery only brews enough to cover the costs to keep the place running and nothing more for profit. So once their run is out, it’s out for the year. Your Belgian establishment must have a connection to keep them stocked. Cheers!!

Quoted from trilogybeer:

You can come up to Wisconsin and get Belgian beers .

Westvletern?
I prefer to make beer runs to WI for Blatz

Quoted from trilogybeer:

Ah ! Hmm ..that I am unsure of . I will have to check a few places to see . I thought you were referring to any of the Belgian Trappist beers being unavailable down there .

Oh no, there’s plenty of them around here and I’ve had my fair share of them

I sent the importer an email today to see if this ever happened!

Did you hear back?

Whoa! And I thought the 11% was high octane! How does it taste?

#1842 4 years ago
Quoted from trilogybeer:

It is really unfortunate that the only beer you have ever tried was something so horrible .

He should just say he never had a beer before

Picked up some treats earlier today from my local brewer Mikerphone for me and my buddy. He threw some Trilliums my way for the trouble. I know I know, cans, blah. It will still be a good weekend

am I missing something about untapped?

Not really, but if you’re constantly trying different beers like I do, it’s a great way of keeping track of what you’ve tried and how you liked them.

Quoted from pinballjj:

did not read the label closely on this one before buying, i assumed it was going to be an almond joy like stout that might be too sweet for my taste but it was this instead. turned out to be a silky ipa , not sweet at all with the coconut and almond very understated[quoted image]

A New England IPA? Looks tasty

Quoted from Bax1:

That was nice but the coconut aged in rum barrels or smores has to be my favorites so far

I’d love to try the rum barrel batch. These are tasty too, though.

Quoted from Bax1:

I’ve never tried the orange chocolate. Buddies told me wasn’t that good so I passed on it. Is it good? Banana coconut is good!

Wasn’t bad, but I could only do one or two tops in one sitting. I love the banana coconut.

This has peaked my interest. How is it?

#2882 2 years ago
Quoted from meSz:

very good but a tad too much spice (cinnamon)

Interesting. When it says spices, I would never guess cinnamon to be the dominant flavor

Was working around the corner from a brewery. Like a sirens song in the air, I was lured in, and I made sure I didn’t leave empty handed.

I’m getting a little hazy this evening before dipping into a tasty barleywine and imperial stout later
